Most people already know most of this info, but for some who dont here are just some tid-bits about this upcoming season. GO CARDS

Spring practice starts: March 26
Spring game: April 18

What to watch
An entirely new defensive staff will try to transform one of last season's worst defenses in the country. Former Michigan defensive coordinator Ron English will take over.

Louisville hired former Western Michigan D-coordinator Bill Miller to coach the linebackers after former Duke coach Ted Roof bolted to Minnesota before the spring even began. All three of the Cardinals' starters are gone. James Bryant, a transfer from Miami, sat out last year but could be the guy in the middle. Chris Campa, a junior college transfer, also will have an opportunity.

Coach Steve Kragthorpe will coach the receivers, and he also must find players to replace both starting tight ends. But he has no one with any game experience to choose from.

What we know: The Cardinals have strong depth at running back with Brock Bolen and George Stripling. They should be productive behind center Eric Wood, who has started 37 straight games, and offensive tackle George Bussey.

What we don't know: If the defense will rebound in 2008. The linebacker position is completely depleted, and the defensive staff has a new look with former Michigan coordinator Ron English at the helm.

How the Cardinals can win the Big East: Louisville has to take advantage of its eight home games and get back to playing sound defense.

We also know that : Louisville's football matchup with Kentucky will be on ESPN. The game in Louisville is set for Sunday, August 31 at 3:30 p.m..

Brainfart got his way and it won't be on Labor day, but it still made national TV.

I don't give a crap if Brainfart got his way or not.  At least we still get to torch them on national TV again.

To show what a horrible time slot that was and how "only wanna-be" programs would be ESPN's biotch, Tennessee plays UCLA in the slot that was to be UK vs. UofL.  No, that Monday night football slot was not worth anything huh?

I think ESPN must have missed the fact that Bilal Powell and Dale Martin will probably be the teams featured backs next year with always the mix of Bolen.  I think Stripling will probably take a spell away from time to time as well but even Victor Anderson will probably take some time away from him.  I look for Beaumont to step up this year to(although as a WR not a RB) because of how talented he was at Male.   As far as the defense goes, everyone knows it cant possibly get worse so any improvements we make will be a good thing.  Cant wait till August fellas.

I'm Right there with you cardsfan25. Everybody watch out for that Defense Though, I think we'll shock the nation once again(but in a good way) just because we'll be so downplayed from last season's performance!!!

Man I totally forgot about Bilal Powell. He made quite an impression on the Rutgers game last season. He will be a beast this year.

I think Powell is tough, but I really believe Martin is going to end up taking over full time.  I may be calling this pre maturely but I think the kid is something special.  Just wait till August.

Well ew, I hate to say it but until the Cards can consistently pull in some decent recruits I believe our success is going to have to come from great coaching.  Now considering nobody has a clue in hell how capable Steve is of being that great of a coach(except maybe Jurich) I think our seasons could be hit or miss for a while.  I dont care what anyone says though, until we can start recruiting better, Louisville wont be back to the BCS for a while.
