Uhhhh... TIGERS! Duh..    Because they will play their own game and turn the Bruins and get easy baskets at the other end..  AND. make their free throws.

It'll be an interesting match up, but I tend to think (probably wrongfully so) that UCLA has the athletes to guard Memphis and they have one thing that Memphis doesn't have; a big man with range.  I just don't see Dorsey guarding Love on the perimeter.  Mbah a Moute, Collison, and Westbrook I think can hang with CDR, Rose and the rest of your boys, but we'll see.  I also said Texas would beat Memphis, so what do I know.  Memphis really proved me wrong, great win yesterday against my Longhorns.

I think memphis takes this one by 10 or 11 pts. Love and Dorsey wiil be a good matchup, and he had a double double with 0 fouls against Texas! With Rose running the point we should be good to go. Like to see CDR have a few more shots, but he made the key free throws when he needed too. 83% from the line!! Way to go Tigers!!

Hey WZ,  I am the new kid on the block and a Tiger Fan.  Just a few things wrong with your post the way I see them.  First, UCLA has really good athletes, but just not enough of them.  If Memphis can run on them, especially in transition, Bruin tongues will be hanging out.  Memphis is real deep, UCLA is not.  Half court game, Teddy Bears may have a chance.  I take it that by "a big man with range" you mean outside shooter.  Robbie D. has a pretty good outside shot and Big D. will give Love fits on defending the outside shot, with Mr. Rose coming from nowhere to steel the B Ball from Love.  As far as hanging with the rest of the boys, again not enough depth.  Oh, Don't be surprised if Collison sits down with 5 minutes left in the first half with foul trouble, and then sits down again mid way through the 2nd halve.  By the way,I really like Texas except when I have to drive across it.  I have great respect for your coach and yes, Texas is not just a football college any more.

Should be a great game Memphis' drive and kick game with fantastic weak side rebounding verus UCLA's gring gring and grind some more.  I don't think UCLA can deal effectively with Rose. Dorsey can guard Love on the interior and on the perimeter, the real question is depth and whose got the gas left in the tank at the 35 minute mark.  Memphis has more atheletes and I think they'll win by 8.

Russell Westbrook will handle him fine.

Dorsey can guard Love on the interior and on the perimeter

Uh, pal.... Noone has been able to guard love this year. And he has faced the best big men in the country... Sorry

SEE THE 2006 ELITE EIGHT... WHEN EVERYONE THOUGHT #1 SEED MEMPHIS WOULD BEAT UCLA.... UCLA PROCEEDED TO KICK THE EVER LIVING KITTY CRAP OUT OF THEM...

UCLA advances with a 50-45 victory... (like 2006).

Vidoe_Bruin, how can you say your bruins kicked the crap out of the Tigers? A 5 point win? Wow! And in that same year did we not beat you by double digits? And besides, what does 2 years have to do with anything? We are not even close to the same team.

tiger eyes.. i don't think you have watched UCLA play basketball.. because anyone else would tell you that ucla has a better transition than memphis.. love can throw the ball the whole length of a court and is a great outlet passer... collison and westbrook can take it to the hole better than anyone in the country.. especially when get the outlet from love.....its gonna come down to free throws for memphis... UCLA wins it by 6...

No qddiver, Memphis is not the same team, but neither is UCLA. It's just that all the Memphis homers on this thread are talking a pile of crap. Everywhere I go I see Memphis fans complaining, "Why does everyone hate Memphis." Well all you have to do is read your posts in this thread or any other and you will have your answer.

Video_Bruin is right about kicking the crap out of Memphis 2 years ago. This was a Memphis team that was supposed to roll over the undermanned Bruins, Remember. Well that undermanned team won the game with defense. Utterly grounded the High flying Tigers into submission. A five point win in everyone's eye's was an ass kicking.

This year is a different season and these are different teams, but the Bruins do one thing the same and better yet than two years ago. They play better defense. What everyone wants to overlook is that UCLA can raise their defensive play to the point that most teams will crack. This is the reason why the Bruins always win the close games. Why they may be down in the first half, but find a way to win in the end. They just turn up the defensive intensity. Kinda like Memphis making freethrows at the end of a game, when it counts.

Now UCLA is in the Final Four and they know that they will have to turn up the intensity for the entire game. I am putting my money on the Bruins.

Hey Video_Bruin...your posts mean jack-squat!!

You're just a scared little B-RUINed that knows the inevitable.

The Tiger are gonna take your little team to town this year and the only thing you can do is throw out idiocracies. Best of luck to the children you bear. It will be a pain to have to put up with your intelligence.
I hope to see a great game.

GO TIGERS GO!!!!

PS> You're a schmuck if you think Memphis is spelled wrong. Especially if you're just trying to be cute. Dip-Sh**!

Obvioulsy, you have never been to Memphis. Where you will commonly here "Mermphis" on the streets, in the stores, and on the news. Think of it as someone spelling New Orleans- "Nawleans." You may want to get out more before you call someone an idiot. Who's LOL now?

UCLA coach Ben Howland said Memphis easily could be 38-0 if not for a 66-62 loss to Tennessee on Feb. 23 that could have gone the Tigers' way.

"It's just an incredible challenge to plan to defend them and score on them because of their athletic ability," Howland said.

I've read several threads from a couple Bruins boys, and I just have to say that most of the despicable insults have come from Video Bruin.  It'll be a great game but you singlehandedly  make me hate UCLA, just because of the lack of class you possess and especially some of the racist remarks I've read from you.  You do the school, their reputation, and their achievements a disservice by being such a damn pig.  I'm glad I'm not related to you, and I'm sure you would make your parents proud by your remarks.  At least your coach and players have brains and a lot of respect.

Tigers in a close one. It's interesting to me how both teams rely so heavily upon freshmen. If either Love or Rose has to sit out for any significant lenght of time for some reason, the respective team will be at a pretty severe disadvantage imo.

Dorsey cannot contain Love, but if Joey can play another foul free, double double  gamethen he can PARTLY offset Love's contribution. That might be enough.

I think if UCLA can do to us this time what they did 2 years ago, i.e. dictate the pace and style of the game, then we lose again. If we keep the game more up tempo and somewhat more wide open, then I think we win. And we have to keep hitting our free throws !

Memphis, because they can run with anyone. And UCLA to me looks the most beatable of all the one seeds. Memphis has a good chance of winning it all.
