Ferentz has posted his 2-deeps. Not a ton of surprises, although I'm really shocked that Ferentz has so many sophs either starting or backing up. Here are some notables:

QB: 1) Jake 2) Stanzi 3) McNutt

RB: 1) Pugh 2) Guillory 3) Paki O'Meara (huh???)

WR: 1) Brodell & Stross (DJK & Sandeman backing them up)

DE: 1) Ballard & Clayborn

CB: 1) Bernstein

Offensive Line Starters: Moeaki, Bulaga, Calloway, Vandervelde (over Doering!), Olsen, Bruggeman (over Eubanks).

My thoughts are that this team still looks extremely young and inexperienced. We are horribly thin at WR which is only going to make Jake's job that much more difficult. I just hope that offensive line steps up this year and gives Jake some time and makes some decent holes for Pugh & Guillory.

BTW - where the hell is Shonn Greene in the 3-deeps?? I've never heard of Paki O'Meara before and I follow the Hawks pretty closely.

Anyone know if Bowman will be back on the team or not?  I know he was the only one to man up and admit his mistake and I thought I saw that he was not kicked off the team, just suspended.

Paki O Meara?  Maybe that was a St Patrick's ploy.  Actually I looked him up, 5'11" 210 RB from Cedar Rapids red shirt freshman last year, walk on...won the hustle team award on special teams...who knows, if you google him sounds like he did well in CR high school...we have good luck with walk ons...go get em Paki.

oh yeah, forgot, Greene not officially enrolled at Iowa for now, he is completing his year out at the JC and then will enroll for summer maybe?  That is why he can't be listed for now.

Bowman is done for good. He's not even listed on their roster any longer.

Paki's a walk-on.....makes sense. Maybe he'll be another Sam Brownlee and get some PT after the top 5 RBs go down. Man, that was a crazy year.

Don't forget the big guy on the line with the hands - Tony Moeaki

Oops, my bad, didn't see him under Off. Lineman there.  Good job Clem.

Hey, do you think they will move Brinson to FB or keep him at RB.

Definitely keeping him at RB at this point now that Pugh ran home to Mommy. We have Jordan McLaughlin and Brett Morse currently listed as 1-2 on the depth chart. I'm sure Ferentz has a few more guys he could put in there too. I see a few players on their roster listed at FB but I've never heard of them - Bryce Griswold (not making that up, Clark) and Wade Leppert. Must be walk-ons.
