Even though they don't need him, Dan Connor at thirty would be a huge steal and a talent like that would be a great value.

With Al Harris and Chales Woodson both over 30, I say they get Flowers to play cb

Yeah, Connor is a top prospect, however he plays inside and Nick Barnett has already solidified that spot and should have been sent to the pro-bowl with his 165 tackles last year. A.J. Hawk is still maturing and getting better with his non-stop effort. Brady Poppinga has a motor every down but is a liability in pass coverage. Jerod Mayo is the fastest lb prospect and a tremendous athlete. In reality, Mayo will be gone by the time the Packers are on the clock, however if these players are available GB should get their card in in under 5 seconds and it should read Jerod Mayo, Tennessee.

I voted Mayo.

Hmm, heres waht I think...

Green Bay could use help at corner: King or Flowers could come in and be a good nickel corner and contribute right away in those passing downs.

Green Bay could use help at linebacker: Nick Barnett is one of the better mlb, and Hawk and Poppinga are good. Mayo could add speed to the unit and would be effective on blitzes and patrolling sideline to sideline.

Packers lost Corey Williams so Kentwan Balmer could fill the void. However, with the talent of Phillip Merling and Jerod Mayo still available I wouldn't expect Balmer to be selected.

I voted Mayo. He'll be an immediate impact player like a Jon Beason or Patrick Willis type lb.

I definitely think the Packers should take a CB in the first round, but, I would rather take Antoine Cason from Arizona. He's taller and faster than Flowers. King is way on down the boards.

Brandon Flowers would not be what the Packers are looking for.  Hes too small to be a bumper and runner.  5'10" 185 lbs.  Taking Justin King is a bit of a reach.  I say the Pack takes Terrell Thomas from USC in the second round.

But for this pick, the Pack selects either Connor or Mayo.

From everything I'm seeing, it looks like the position of most need for the Pack is OG.  Seeing there are no Guards worthy of a first round pick, besides maybe Branden Albert,I agree with most here and say they go CB.  Harris (33) and Woodson (31) are getting up there and youth is needed at the position. I'll go with Brandon Flowers-VT.

I know that a CB would be the safest bet, but I'd really like to see the Packers draft another tight end to help out Rodgers.  The Big 5 + Donald Lee + Dustin Keller + Ryan Grant + DeShawn Wynn = A lot of weapons on offense.

looks like the Packers are gonna end up with brandon flowers in this mock but i can guarantee the packers will not draft him. he is too small (5'9")and too slow(4.55) and not physical enough to play in our system. he also has rumors circling about his characther and possible links to illegal activities.he would be a terrible fit and pick for us. most people think the packers "need" a cb but ted thompson doesnt draft for need in the first round. he takes best avaiable player and in his opinion he rates the defensive front 7 very high. i think out of the players on the list merling is the best talent with the most upside

If the Packers can get Dustin Keller he will give Aaron Rodgers a passing threat out of the TE posistion which can give the Packers a even better passing attack than last year, Keller wont get as much attention as gennings, driver, and jones so he'll be open more often

Brandon Flowers to improve and add youth to an aging CB group.

Definitely can't go wrong with a CB here... Brandon Flowers has to be the best choice for the Cheeseheads.

Based on the age of the starting CBs for Green Bay that is a position that makes sense in the draft, so Flowers wouldn't be a bad pick.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pack take a safety but will there be any worthy of a first round grade when the Packers are on the clock?  I know Kenny Phillips is gone on this mock draft but if he was available he might be an option too.     The Packers are weak in terms of pass coverage by their safeties - Green Bay has struggled against the better TEs in the league and RBs out of the backfield have had a lot of success too.  A playmaking safety would help address that.   Reggie Smith of Oklahoma might be a nice addition in that he projects as either a CB or safety in the NFL, having played both positions in college.

Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher will be 32 and 31 respectively next season, picking up an OT they can groom for a couple of seasons wouldn't be a bad idea - but they may be able to find one later in the draft.

I think Smith would be a great pick because of his versatility.

Reggie Smith CB/S from Okalahoma.........................

Right now I can picture the Packers running up to the podium with Jerod Mayo's name on the card. It would be a big mistake if he's here this long and doesn't get picked here. But if they do pass on him and draft King, Flowers, or Keller they will stay have made a solid pick. But the Giants will soon make them pay with their shoe-in pick of Jerod Mayo.
