As a TCU fan, I'm hoping that Dixon is just under enough duress there to move on, any chance that he is unhappy there? Is he well liked? He is a bit of a legend here in Texas, and I know that they seem to be great up there every year, then fade as the year goes on. So? any chance? Would ya'll like to see him go? Or would it be a big blow?
(I realize TCU is a big dropoff from Big East, just hoping)

PITT love Dixon and the only way TCU will get him is if Sean Miller is available for PITT. Dixon has maintained 20 wins here and kept the Pete packed that's what PITT likes and maybe he might get by the sweet 16 once and maybe just maybe win a National Championship. But yes he's happy here and most of the Panther nation is too. And thanks for the love for our coach that's when you know you have something/one that is wanted or liked, again thanks.

If he just turned down an opportunity to coach at Cal, a position where both he and his wife could be closer to home, then he is definitely going to be with the Panthers for some time.
His recruiting is improving, his coaching is improving. It would be a huge detriment to the program at this point if he were to leave.

Are you kidding? PITT loves DIXON, he is one of the greatest coaches in PITT history. Many teams are looking at Dixon and if he wanted to leave he would not go to TCU.

Agreed. Dixon is the coach for the future of our program. At first, when he was coaching Howland-recruited players, there were some questions surrounding him, but now that he has proven he can not only maintain the program but build it (ie, winning the big east champ by playing 4 games in 4 days--something howland never did) there is little chance he will be leaving anytime soon. As a student, I can say he is very popular with the student body, and really friendly too, myself and some friends have met him, and he is a great guy. If you watched the press conference or saw any interviews after Mike Cook's injury, you saw what a true class act Dixon is and how much he cares for his players. At the other end of the spectrum, I know several alumni who say that Dixon does an excellent job making nice with the high rollers, so he has all his bases covered. I'm glad that other schools are looking at him, because that just testifies to his reputation as an outstanding coach, but I'm even more glad he'll be leading our program here at Pitt!

Sorry, but no.
If Dixon is under duress it's not coming from Pitt fans or players. Why wouldn't we love him? He's all class. He gets us 20 or so wins every year. He gets us to the tournament every year. His teams and recruits are only getting better and he's still improving as a coach.....etc.

Forgot to say that it's good to hear that fans of other programs respect our coach. Thanks for that.

Not to be disrespectful, but TCU? You are kidding right? Pitt is a superior team in a superior conference. Dixon would be taking a huge step down for that job, that is not what coaches do, unless you are Tubby Smith.
I would say start looking at coaches from Siena, SW Missouri, or Robert Morris, that is a little more possible. Pitt for TCU? Keep dreaming.

You know what, my apologies, in speaking before thinking, I forgot that is Dixon's alma mater. So I know where you are coming from, my bad. If Pitt ever fired Dixon, it seems very plausible for obvious reasons. I dont see Dixon leaving unless the job is a high-high major out west. Cal was not good enough for Dixon to leave, theres not too many others that could tempt him. UCLA and USC could be possible. Last I checked I dont think the Bruins job will be opening anytime soon and USC, other than the weather, is not a better job than Pitt.

All I know is that Dixon's no Paul Evans. And we can all be thankful for that.
If Dixon leaves remember that Sean Miller is a homeboy, Pitt and Blackhawk, wasn't it?
