Why even care what some azzhat says about anything. I am going to enjoy rooting for my team this year like I do every year. Someone pounding their chest about their superior conference,, who the f**k cares, I like to talk about sports, not get into some pizzing contest of my dad can beat up your dad... grow the f**k up!!!! If all you can do is slam another team or conference, you are just a bag of wind. If you want to talk about what your team is bringing this year, I am interested, tell me about your new recruites, or players, or whatever, I like to listen to knowledgeable fans talk about their teams. But, the numbnuts who come on to just spout crap,, give it a rest.
Man this is awesome the amount of time people put together these stats. I guess I have a job...and don't have enough time to research back to 1970 since I was about 2...LOL
But here's a thought can we go back to the start of all of American Football to be fair statistically with the numbers since it would be skewed by just going back far enough to prove your team was better. In football this is recognized titles... OSU 5, Michigan 7, Minn 6, Penn State 2. Tenn has 4 LSU 3, UF/ & GA 2 recognized national Titles.http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/national_championships/nchamps_team.php
But this is really sad but if you want to go all time titles the Ivy League leads in National Championships in Football by a conference. YAWNNN
Since 1869 the conference with the most national championships in football is the Ivy League with 48 titles (Yale 18, Princeton 15, Harvard 8, Penn 4, Cornell 3). source: cfbdatawarehouse.com
I guess everyone is weak compared to the mighty Ivy League!!! Now could we talk about some football instead of mud slinging???
It is apparent that South Carolina has never had the talent to be called ELITE. No wonder your an SEC first fan.
Forget elite. They are rarely average. But every year SEC fans continue to list South Carolina as a tough game when describing their "murderous" conference schedules. What a joke.
How about this watch the Orange Blue game 12 et ESPN. U will see a 170 plus running back named Chris Rainey running everywhere. He runs like 180 plus and hits like hes 200 plus. He makes moves like Gail Sears. Also look for pretty much all of the Lakeland 7, There all in there 2nd year now and it looks like 5 could be seeing significant playing time this year. Those players are Rainey RB, The Pouncey twins (OL, C, Both played all last year as 18 year old freshman), Steve Wilks actually recruited as a DB is actually going to take over the FB position this year. John Brown DT is looking to be starting and or sharrin much playing time, Ahmad Black DB has already moved from the bottom of the depth chart to the top in only 6 spring practices, Last but not least Paul Wilson (Father was fastest white man in Florida back in the day)He wont play this year, but he has picked up weight and is now up to 190 plus. As for the much needed RB situation. Look For Moody to emerge as the back who takes the most carries. Rainey could easily be the 2 back and come in on certain plays. He is a threat as much as Harvin to score everytime he toaches the ball. Moody has looked great in Spring they say also. Look for Deonte Thompson and Junior College transfer Carl Moore to really have break out seasons at the WR position. Tebow aslo has the best recieving core in the country. Add the TE from Bristol and veteran Ingram. U have 2 more very damn good TE's.As for the much needed DL. Well they add a Junior tranfer. They also return everybody but Harvey. Names to look for Carlos Dunlap DE, Trattueo, and a couple others. Spikes LB will be one of the best MLB's in the country and the DB's are deap and get even deaper with newcomer Will Hill. He will see playing time this year. Also look for Haden DB and Major Wright DB to be 2 of the best out there. Overall report from Gainsville is that after the Offense winning the first 3 days. The Deffense has now won the practices 4 days in a row and has been more convincing each day. 1 more thing believe it or not. Meyer said Cameron Newton Florida's backup QB should see considerable playing time this year behind Tim Tebow. They say he has looked so good. it not even funny. They say he knows the whole Offense, They says hes a natural deep ball thrower with much accuray, He makes very quik and good decision's, and also has a very quik release. Did I mention hes 6'6 235 and runs a 4.4. Looks the overall talent is something ESPN knows about or they would not be having the first ever televised Spring Game ever. Dont forget to tune in early for a 2 hour College game day with Lee and the whole crew live from the Swamp. Also check out some of the student vs player challenges before the game too. Those should be fun. Im sure ESPN will televise a couple. Well thats about it. I guess that gives you a pretty good luck at what you asked for. Now remember (ESPN 2) College gameday 11et, (ESPN) College gameday 12 et, and finally at 1 et live on ESPN. The Orange and Blue Game live from the Swamp.
Go Mountaineers, I only pull for other BE teams because it makes WV look good if they do well. I also defend them as they get put down like they are WV AA High School Football even when the champ wins 3 straight BCS games.
I found info for the last 5 years. Since 2003, against the ACC, Donovan is:
0-1 against Maryland
1-1 against Miami
1-0 against Wake Forest
2-3 against FSU
Unless I missed a game, I think he is 4-5 against the ACC since 2003. Domination? Please explain
Unless I missed one, since his time at UF, he's 10-8 in the regular season and 2-0 in the tourney against the ACC. Not dominant, but he lost his first 2 to FSU before turning the program around. He's 12-6 since, and has a .500 or better record against every ACC team he's played. I believe he's also the only coach to beat Duke and UNC in the same tourney. Not dominant, but not as far off as you'd have us believe.
1-1 vs Duke (reg season road loss to eventual #1 seed and Sweet 16 win over #1 seed the next year)
1-0 vs UNC (Final Four over 8 seed)
1-1 vs Maryland (win at MD before losing at home following year; MD ranked 16th and 21st, respectively)
1-0 vs Wake (Preseason NIT or Coaches vs Cancer; Wake ranked 18th)
