Seems like alot of delusional people on here today from big ten land, so I wanted to do my part in leading the blind to the light.
Not big ten dreams and lies.
Well this is tooooooo easy, let's break down the BIG TEN or as we all know on here: THE 1900s to the 1960s PADDED STAT's 10.
1. National titles not heismans is how you measure a team or even how well teams from your conferene STEP it up against the ELITE:
1970s the big ten was reduced down to just two teams and yet all the big ten fans thought the big ten was great during this time, but during this time only one big ten team won the rose bowl during the whole decade. THAT IS PATHETIC and 0 national titles to show for it. so to summarize REALITY versus stupidity, stupidity runs wild in big ten country.
1980s, no titles and just a average decade for the little 10.
1990s, one title, but alot of chokes.
2000s, one title, but alot of chokes.
2. Only 3 out of 11 big ten teams by week 11 of any season had still a good shot at winning a national title by season's end since 1970. Meaning the other 8 teams haven't had the talent to be called ELITE in almost 40 years. 8 is ALOT.
3. Between 1930s and 1975 the big ten only played in ONE BOWL GAME and that was the ROSE bowl. That means you could be purdue, go 9-2 and not play in bowl and hide from showing whether you were REALLY good or not. This has translated to the big ten having a TERRIBLE bowl record since 1975 and basically proving that before 1975 you really have to question if the big ten won alot of titles by HIDING? So far the proof is in the pudding by how the big ten looks year after year since 1970 and since 1975 when all teams played in bowls. Correlation are not a big ten friend.
4. Worst bowl record of the 2000s at 21-32.
5. Okay bowl record of the 1990s at 28-28
6. Not a good bowl record of 21-25 in the 1980s. The bowl theme is something you can't shake, it is only a excuse to say traveling is the reason.
7. 2 national titles total since 1970. Worst among all BCS conferences, but plenty of chances, but so little cigars. OSU fans believe because of nfl, they have alot of talent, but they forget that you DO have alot of talent, but NOT EACH position TALENT. You have spot talent at SOME positions and this was proven without a shadow of doubt that you can be the best in the WEAK 10 with spot talent, but no where close to the best in the SEC since FLA and LSU showed you how to PLAY TALENT across the board football. DEPTH is reality, talk is not.
8. The big ten's best team has now choke 9 times with a chance at national title late in the season since 1970. OSU is by far the biggest choke artist since 1970 of any school on this football map. ALL talk, no backing it up but one time. Remember tressel's best win came against a coach told to leave just last year.
9. ALL that population in the big ten country, still 2 titles to show for it since 1970. WEAK 10.

Some GREAT SEC STAT's to remind to the goof ball big ten fans.
LSU's 2007 BCS National Championship is the Southeastern Conference's fourth in the 10 years of the BCS. Tennessee won the BCS National Championship in 1998, LSU in 2003 and Florida in 2006.
The SEC is the first conference to win back-to-back BCS titles.
The SEC is 11-4 all-time in BCS bowl games. The SEC has won four BCS bowl games in the last two seasons.
The SEC's seven bowl wins this season is an all-time high for any conference. SEC had six last season (previous high).
The SEC's 7-2 bowl record this season is first among the automatic qualifying BCS conferences (.778 percent) and second overall (Mountain West - 4-1, .800 percent) this season.
This season, the SEC posted a 47-10 record against non-conference foes (.825 percent), which is the highest percentage of all FBS conferences. 47 wins ties an SEC high all-time (last season, had 47).
The SEC now has 184 bowl wins in its history, which is tops in FBS.
The SEC's bowl win percentage of 52.8 (184-164-13) is percentage points ahead of the ACC's 143-128-5 percentage of 52.7 for tops among FBS conferences. Records are using 2007 conference alignments.
FACTs not spin, WE ARE THE BEST.

Once again, is the SEC a team. No, quit piggybackin a whole conference. I think everyone would agree that in the last 10 years the SEC is the best conference. Who cares, start backin the Gamecocks and people would have more respect for you. Go Buckeyes, even if they play in the shitty Big Ten.

Yeah, and with all that vast superiority, when the SEC runs into the Weak Ten in bowl games they go 12-10. Gosh, how impressive is that?

cassells1.................
Sad to say but alot of posters shy away from the facts. Not sure I agree with your approach but you did stick the proof in the pudding.
Too bad Florida couldn't make it 8-1 this year for the SEC but oh well. Played horrible and lost by 6 points to the #2 BIG10 team.

I don't shy away from his facts, they are for the most part valid points, but he hates on the Buckeyes and doesn't back a team. He rides a whole conference and I think that is chicken bleep.

When they start givin national championships to a whole conference, that's when I'll give a crap about who has the best conference. Till then who cares, the only thing the best conference does is prepare you for a tough bowl game, but also, gives you a better chance to lose in the regular season.

Georgia is 6-0 vs the Big 10 in bowls and has not lost a game to them since 1957. A far cry from 0-9 wouldn't you say?

If it's pathetic Big 10 has only had 3 teams at the end of the regular season since 1970 w/ a legitimate shot at a NC title, wouldn't that indicate the Big 10 schedule is so brutal that they beat each other up and thwart each others chances for national championships?

MadCityJack.............
Florida has beaten the last 2 years the following teams OOC...............
- BIGEAST ( Georgetown, Villanova, Rutgers)
- PAC10 (UCLA twice, Oregon and Arizona State all on the road)
- BIG10 (OSU twice, Purdue)
- And Billy Donovan dominates the ACC head to head.
Does this mean the SEC is better than these other conferences in basketball? Absolutely not.
The BIG10 and the SEC has something in common this year................they both suck in basketball.
