Dang Doyel. You're talking straight and making sense again. Is a comet hitting the Earth tomorrow or what? I appreciate your insight into the Kansas-Villanova game. Nova doesn't have the horses or the guns as they ride into this late game showdown with the Kansas Jayhawks in Detroit Friday night. Villanova is a good team and no disrespect meant to them. Its just looking like this Kansas may fill a 20 year itch and win it all. Rock Chalk Jayhawks!

While I agree that Kansas will likely win, at this point in the Sweet 16 it's anyone's game. This article looks like a jinx waiting to happen.

Just hope I get a chance for a big "F-U" for Doy(toy)lette Friday night. How 'bout some lobbying to get ESPN to cover the NCAA's. Look, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNClassic, ESPNnews. Why, we could be watching five different games at once, instead of this flippity-flop garbage CBS-ucks shows. Plus, what could be better than some Dickey V? Go back to the sewer.

Nova has no chance in this game unless KU shoots like 28% and i don't see that happening. I would love to see ESPN cover the tourney so we could at least watch 2 different games if nothing else, however i couldn't stand listening to Dicki V suck up to all the ACC schools the whole tourney(even though this year that wouldn't have lasted too long). Anyway Hawks cruise to the elite 8 for the 5th time in 7 years, Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!

Is it game time already!! I can't take this waiting anymore!! The only bad thing is that Michigan State is going to get priority over the KU game most likely here in Chicago. Looks like a bar for me. Man this sucks, having beers at a bar after work on Friday watching KU win?!? I can't think of a better Friday.....

And, they should rule in this one, Mark Staff.
I am a huge Nova fan and it will be very difficult for Villanova to beat Kansas. Although I will be pulling for them, Kansas needs to lay an egg to lose.
That being said, there is absolutely no pressure on Nova, all the pressure is squarely on the Jayhawks. They should win by at least 10.
Regardless of the outcome, Nova will be a clear preseason top 10 team next year, no doubt.
Good Luck and remember it is March, crazy things happen this time of year, like back in 1985!!

I am not sure if Nova is a top top team next year. Reynolds might be getting paid to play basketball next year. He is playing so well in the tournament that his draft stock is rising while guys like Eric Gordon are falling off. Regardless, I would like to see the Wildcats pull off a win. It would be a great story since they were one of, if not THE last team in. Should Kansas win this game, and by all accounts they should, the potential match-up with the red hot Tarheels has me giddy as a school girl.

Good assessment here Doyal...I suppose you have never watched this tournament before in your life. Why do writers continue to dribble out articles about how teams can't win. Nova is tested night in and night out in the Big East all year, this Kansas team will not intimidate them. Is Kansas more talented? Yes, that's obvious...but what is so shocking about a Big East team beating Kansas. Don't get so obsessed like everyone else Doyal with the seedings. Somebody decides to put a number 12 next to Villanova and now they're Cinderalla. Don't get so obsessed about the seeds people! Kansas is in for a battle.

Markstaff,
That article makes too much sense, which is why Villanova might win. I'd be sending hate mail to Doyel if I were you. Thanks for jinxing us. What a jerk. That does it, I'm calling my bookie right now to take Villanova. Who rights stuff like that? Man, I hope I can change my bet. I oughta...

I'm in agreement with Doyel's article. Kansas is far too talented and experienced to go down to a young Villanova team. But I question Doyel's statement about the classes of some of the Kansas players. Doyel claims that Brandon Rush is a junior but I believe he is a senior. He wanted to declare for the draft last year but his knee injury caused him to return for his senior year. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Markstaff - like the new avitar!
I agree with you and Doyel here... Kansas is just too good and has too many weapons for us to lose this game. I just hope the team is not looking ahead to UNC. That is going to be an emotional game for everyone involved.
Tonight - we just need to pound the ball in the paint and take advantage of our HUGE size advantage.
GO KU!!

Hey bigrick33
Rush is a junior. He has been trying to leave KU for 3 years now. If he keeps up the way he has been playing since Big 12 tourney you might as well count this as his senior year because there is no way he will be staying.
Rock Chalk!

Maybe it's because I'm a Cubs fan and everytime we are supposed to something great, somebody writes an article like that and then other things happen and it all falls apart. I'd be shocked if you guys don't win by more than twenty tonight, but I hate articles like that when they say my team is going to blow away somebody. Have fun watching your KU team dominate tonight.

In my opinion, even if Villanova were to upset this fine edition of a Kansas team...it wouldn't be as big an upset as when the 1996 Arizona Wildcats upset an unbelievable, undefeated, Jacque Vaughn and Raef Lafrenz team. That team was unreal, the Kansas squad that is, and they were defeated in what was not a fluke by Arizona. AZ went on to beat two more #1 seeds in that tournament.
I respect your point Doyle, but your scope of history is a little too myopic. This wouldn't even be the biggest upset of a Kansas team much less one of the greatest upsets of all time.
