If you haven't seen the documentary "21 Days:  The Rockies Run for the Pennant" on Fox Sports Rocky Mountain yet, you are definitely missing out.  I think it's about an hour and a half long and it follows the Rockies from the series before they started their 21 wins in 22 days all the way through them winning the NL Pennant (that's as far as anyone remembers anyways, right?).  I've watched it twice and there are about 5 or 6 points in the show that I think would give me goosebumps if I saw it a hundred times.

ddog -

Thank you for letting me know about that.  Do you know if there is any possible way that I could get a copy of the documentary.  Living in AZ, they aren't going to play the Rockies documentary.  Interestingly enough, I occasionally can catch a replay of a Rockies - DBAcks game that was televised by FSRM but not by FSAZ.  I think that it was last night that I watched some of the Rockies - DBacks spring training game as televised by FSRM.

Again, if anyone knows of a way tat I can obtain a copy of the documentary, I would love to hear about it.

Right now I think it's just on tv, but if I see anything about them selling copies I'll post it on here.

It really is pretty good, they actually got Ernie Harwell to narrate it, and who doesn't want to hear about baseball from Ernie Harwell.

I've seen it on FSN 3 or 4 times and each time has been from just flipping through the channels. Each time I end up watching the whole thing. Everytime I see Helton run around 3rd on his way to home after hitting the walkoff againt Saito I get a tear in my eye. What a great documentry on the Rockies pennant run of 2007.

You can get a free copy of the DVD 21 if you make a donation to the Wins for Kids foundation before April 30th. Here's the link.

In the show, Todd Helton refers to game 163 with this comment..."if that game was played in New York City, it'd be the greatest game of all time."

I have no doubt that he is correct.  That game was unreal when you consider everything that went into it.  We needed an incredible string ofgood baseball and good luck to even make it necessary.  It had controversial calls (both the game ending run and Garrett Atkins home run being called a double), extra innings, what appeared to be a game winning home run by Hairston, and an incredible comeback against the all time saves leader.

WOW.

I actually caught it last night.  Was just flipping the channels and came across it.  If you watch 30 seconds of it you wont be able to leave it.  I was hoping to find it on again so I could Tivo it and save it.  An absolulte must see!

Was very neat to see Helton's perspecitve of it all.  Man that guy deserved a year like that!  And he was absolutely correct about if  game 163 had been played in NY it would have been one of the best baseball games ever.  The media drives me crazy.  They think that baseball only exists in NY and Bos.  Give me a break!

RRRr burn boston and new york!!! Doom to evil empires #1 and #2.  But no that is an amazing piece.  I caught a part of it and instantly became enamored.  I could never get tired of seeing it, and I will never tire of seeing shots of helton raising his arms into the air as he caught the final out to send Colorado to the WS.
