It appears as though less is more for this bunch of savvy juniors and seniors. The Cougars average 67 points per game and only four times this season have they gone north of 74 points in a game. Can they slow the pace and win against North Carolina? Maybe.
North Carolina is a high-octane offensive machine. No team plays faster better than the Tar Heels. With a pair of speed-merchant point guards, good perimeter shooting, multiple post-up options and quality depth, North Carolina averages 89 points per game and has been held under 75 points just four times; the Tar Heels won all four of those games. At times turnovers have been a problem, along with a lack of intensity on defense.
Do i need to say anymore.
In summary wash st. has to play it's best offensive and defensive game of the year while UNC will have to have its poorest offense outing of the year.
Wow, that is truly the analysis of a 9 year old. (So if you are 8 or younger please take this as a compliment.) It is all about style of play, and you better hope that UNC takes WSU more serious than you are. They play hellacious defense and have been one of the best looking teams so far. Fortunately I think Roy Williams will diagnose this a liitle more seriously and UNC should win a tight game late.

I think you should have read that last sentence more carefully than you did. Lack of intensity on defense, and a propensity for turnovers is not good against a team like WSU. Like most others, I believe it will be a very close game, and can see UNC pulling it out at the end. However, NO ONE should be surprised if WSU pulls off the upset. The lack of intensity on defense is a big concern for UNC, and Roy Williams knows this and is concerned. The only question is whether the Heels other than Psycho T will listen.
The first number for each team represents their offensive efficiency, which is roughly the number of points scored per 100 possessions. The second number for each team represents their defensive efficiency, which is roughly the number of points allowed per 100 possessions. The parentheses next to these numbers represent their NCAA rank.
The difference in points scored per game and points allowed per game then is mostly attributable to tempo. If North Carolina dictates the tempo of this game, they're almost certain to win; if Washington State can dictate the tempo, they should be able to win.
