Damn, am I getting excited for the season to start.

My main concern right now is how the back of the rotation has struggled this spring.  Jimenez and Morales have not looked much like their late season performnces and there are still questions as to who will grab the remaining starter spot.  Right now it looks like Redman who will start the home opener.

With young pitchers you have to expect some struggles and my hope is that the lineup gives the starters a lot of run support when they don't take their "A" game to the mound.  If there is a lineup in the NL that is capable of providing big run support, it is the ox.

Your thoughts?

Mark Redman will be the fifth starter... I like having Kip Wells in the bullpen he can eat up innings and if needed become the "sixth starter" for any reason....   As for Josh Towers I think some AAA baseball should help him out, but come mid-season hopefully he will be able to pick up for anyone if the situation arises.

PS Jimenez and Morales looked good but still show signs of the age

At times I think the young guys such as Morales and Jimenez press themselves too much. Once the season starts and they know they have nailed down a rotation spot hopefully they will have calmed down. Morales is the one who you can read it on his face and Hurdle is well aware of it as he was during the WS. If these guys can get in 6-7 innings I feel the pen can finish it out. Lets play baseball. Go Rockies 2007 NL Champs!

2007 NL Champs

That just sounds so awesome.  Especially after remaining a fan through the tough times.  I've been a Rockies fan since day 1, as I can imagine most of you have been as well.  I hope that our young pitchers will be able to have a great year.  As far as I am concerned, the amount of success we have this year will primarily depend on their success.  I know that is a difficult position to put them in, but Jimenez and Morales have such great arms.  If they can just throw the ball with some sense of accuracy, changing locations and speeds, they are going to be nearly unhittable.  I only use the word "nearly" because there are some great hitters in MLB that can occassionaly take a pitchers best pitch and hit it over the fence or at least get a single.

This is going to be an amazing season.  If only I could just travel with the team and attend every game, I would be in Heaven.

GO ROCKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the Rockies might have it a little rough in the beginning, but will pull out their magic after a month or so. Have faith and have no fear, these guys believe in TEAMWORK and Hurdle will have them in the right direction in no time. The back end is young and strong. I can't wait until they prove all of the skeptics wrong!

Year in and year out, spring training is the time where every team has high hopes for the coming season.  For years, Rockies fans had to hope that the stars would align perfectly so that we could enjoy a successful season.  Without divine intervention, we had a feeling that by the All Star break the team would be forced to just play out the string.

Finally Rockies fans know that they have both a lineup that can put up runs against any pitcher in the league and a pitching staff that has quality starters and a bullpen that can nail down wins.  The excitement that comes with this realization makes us all more than hopeful for the 2008 season.  Nothing can match the fun of last September's run to the pennant, but the anticipation for the season seems to be at an all time high.

In a shocking turn of events, even the national media has had nice things to say about this team.
