That means he has only a 45% chance by the numbers to even tie the game. Adding the immense pressure top of that, I seriously doubt he would have made both. Even if he did, the Bruins would have had 5 sec or so to win the game. Even if the game had gone to overtime, I still would have given UCLA a definite edge since they had their defense rolling by the time the game was coming to an end and had the momentum.
So exactly how should the Bruins lost this game? Was Sloan going to make 3 free throws in two attempts?
My favorite call of the game was when a Texas A&M player(Sloan I think) got frustrated with Collison's defense, grabbed Darren around the waist with both hands, threw him aside, then the referree called a foul on Collison. Absolutely hilarious!
One bad call out of lots of them gets all the media coverage and somehow those possible, but unlikely by the percentages, two points, somehow means that we are to make the assumption that once he makes those two free throws, A&M would have definitely won the game from there on out. Based on what?
