If last year was a "rebuilding" year for THE Ohio State University. Think about how good the Buckeyes will be this year. Go Bucks!

If we can replace Gholston's pass rush early then I don't believe this team is going to have any obvious weaknesses.

How much help do you think having Pryor and getting help from South Florida will aid us in stopping the spread?

Ohio St. fans should feel very, very fortunate that you are catching the absolute worse So. Cal. team since their previous lousy year--2001.

Still, it will be a pick 'em type game and, hopefully, So. Cal. can hurt Ohio St. and do a much better job of exploiting vulnerabilities in OSU's pass 'D' then the Univ. of Washington did the last time Ohio St. travelled far to take on a Pac-10 opponent on the road.  This time, instead of facing the 8th- or 9th-best team in a 10-team conference, you'll be dealing with a top-3 conference team.

If the Univ. of Washington was able to play Ohio St. even for a half, hopefully So. Cal. will do much better.

I'll admit:  your OSU 'D' is dang fast and quick for featuring too many supposedly tired, slow, overachieving white guys.  Also, Beanie Wells is trouble, regardless of what you do/don't have returning on your o-line.

Simer down a touch with the "scary good" stuff.  We do have a strong team coming back.  We should win the Big 10.  The game in SoCal will be an outstanding game. And, if we traverse the season undefeated, we will likely be given another NC shot.  But remember, the powers that be are more likely to award us with such a shot if we exceed expectations and more likely to punish us if we underachieve, so let's set realistic goals.

Last year Ohio State had the perfect schedule for a young but talented team. This year they will be seasoned. They have a great test playing @ USC.

This team will be solid for many more years.

Scary Good I don't know about all that. Defense will always be overrated even with their first round talent. Offensively Boeckman and the passing game has got to become better. Special teams has to do a better job as well. And yes OSU is catching USC at a very good time for this game. Let's see what happens

I don't think the defensive talent is overrated.  I am concerned about the clear inability to make halftime adjustments on the defensive side since D'antonio left.  If this continues, Tress needs to get rid of Heacock.

He's on the clock.

talent is there but at the end of the day OSU defense is going to give up around 30-35 points to whoever they play thats worth anything.

OSU will win the Big Ten again but I don't see a return to the national title game. The impending smack down from USC will hault that. Along with the past two championship debacles.

I'm WIith you TD.  last year OSU was in a "rebuilding" mode with a QB that had never started and a young WR group.  This year should be something special.
