Seriously, lets get some love for the Golden State now! This state produces the finest athletes, hottest chicks, coolest whatever anywhere, anytime. Last how many top recruits in every sport come out of here, we blow your state away! You should all give in to the might of the golden state, our flag, govenor, and football teams can kick your flag, govenor and football team's ass! You will rue the day you didn't give in to our prowess!

YesYes we have all been force fed about how perfect California is by the media. Let us all hope that some huge earthquake doesn't hit Cal and sink it into the ocean. It would be a shame to lose such a perfect place :D.

California? That place should be its own country, seriously!!!!!!!!!! You guys live in a pipe dream out there. I live in the real world on the east coast and deal with Californians, and for the most part they are effin clues about what goes on in the real world and think that the effin universe revolves around them. Please, come out to the east coast and see what goes on as far as reality is concerned. Sooner than later, you'll drop into the ocean and we won't have to deal with your out of touch citizens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude, your governor isn't even an American citizen. "I'll be back"..... please, your comment just shows how idiotic the way you guys think over there. We have schools in PA that have been around longer than your state has existed along with their football teams. You really don't have much to brag about.

First of all I didn't mind the article by Dodd.. Seems like a good kid who is fortunate to have money in his family but still works hard to get where he is going. Second of all thank you for this post! I have been waiting for this for a long time. I was born and raised in California and I would not live there again for any reason!

Give some names to back that up! And there is 25 million people I hope there would be some fine athletes coming out of there.. You said something about all the top recruits coming from there and I am thinking of top QB = Pennsylvania, Top WR = Alabama.. I am sure I can get some help from future posters on here..

You have not been to Alabama or Georgia my friend. these girls are the sweetest thing known to man and they know how to take care of a man as well as themselves. California girls on average have big boobs and couldn't even get brainfreeze because they don't have the right equipment.
And California is so cool that the Governator just cut $14 billion off your budget and they are threatening to cut out sports in some areas.. Have fun with the streets when that happens Cali! Great place to live!

Superlatives notwithstanding, everyone knows that the progenitor of Friday Night Lights is in Texas and colleges would be fools is how Switzer put it to not recruit here. Of course kids in California look great because of the lack of talent from top to bottom throughout. Kids from the south are hungrier, kids from the midwest are heartier and flashes of brilliance from every where else. Frankly without every state we simply would not have anything like the NFL. SEC fans argue the Sugar Bowl is fought every Saturday. The Big 10 is offensive lineman vs linebackers every week. The Big 12 and PAC10 is offense every week. When was the last 3-0 or 7-3 game in either league. Frankly TCU has the best defensive athletes anywhere because major colleges don't recruit defense. Only things great in California are the Redwoods, Beaches, Skiing and the weather. People are stuck in their own thing and never share of themselves unless someone is paying for it.

I grew up in Cali and it has it's good points but it also has some bad ones.
My sister is 26 year old teacher in a school in Cali. She already has her Masters degree. She has been teaching for 2 years in the school system there and will be fired at the end of the year due to Arnolds budget cuts. The class she currently teaches is a combo of 3rd and 4th grade students b/c there is a shortage of teachers. Now the same school is losing 4 more teachers.
Cali definatly has some major financial problems.

Geez, yes there are plenty of great athletes that come out of California but what is the population of California? Isnt it something like 30 million? Thats about 6 times more than most states. I would certainly hope they would produce some great athletes. With that many people living there they would have to.
