Question: are the guys on WGN aware that this is spring training? I might have to watch this game with the TV on mute.

Cubsbadgers,

Sorry all, Im gonna try this again.  As I was saying, I dont mean to come off as an expert, but I do feel I have plenty to offer.  It just strikes me as funny when Cub fans make statements and someone else contradicts them, we come off as holier then thou.  I come to this board because most of the posters on the Brewer board are less than scintilating.  All I can tell you is that I will be here all year to challange anything I dont think is right and I very much look forward to the discussion.

Arguing over opinions is pretty pointless if you ask me.  Both teams are talented and 162 games is a long time.  These type of threads only serve to regurgitate things posted last month.  Have fun with if you choose, but I fail to see the entertainment value with arguing over things that pretty much unproveable.  The rcords at the end of the season shpoul settle the arguments, dont you think?

Besides Cubs and Brewers fans, what do you argue if the Reds, Cardinals, Astros, or Pirates surprise?  Root for your teams and enjoy the season.  It should be a good one for all of us.

He was however "linked" to steroids about the time the mitchell report came out.

So where Pujols and countless other players.  If your going to pretend that the Cubs have never had a player on steroids (SOSA)  or stimulants or any other illegal drug, then your just dillusional.  Either way this is kind of a dumb arguement keeping track of how many doped up players each team has

I am not keeping track.  I was trying to give you credit for being correct.  A mistake I will likely never make again.

I don't pretend that the cubs have never had a player etc.  The reality is that the Brewers have  a player with a known history.  Speculation about sosa is just that speculation.  Same as speculation about fielder would be speculation.  The primary issue for cameron IMHO is his 25 game suspension and 240 BA last year.  Those are much bigger and more important "issues"

Now while your thinking keeping track of "doped up players" is "dumb", then why did YOU bring up roberts as a steroid user??

FTR I did not bring up either Cameron or roberts.  Your thread began both conversations.

Please answer to ma and everyone who reads this board:

Do you think that any comparison between Braun and Pujols is either credible or valid???

Get off your high horse.  I know you feel like I came after you personally but you posted some things that were not entirely true and or accurate or left room for a valid argument.  My reply was to the portion of your post where you stated you liked the chances of Soto and Fukudome being successful, not about comparing Braun to Pujols.  If you are going to quote me, be accurate and leave the attempt to discredit at home.   I have been courteous to everyone here and everybody gets a baseline of respect from me, you however, leave a lot to be desired.   Do I think Braun IS comparable to Pujols?  No, not enough service time.  Do I think Braun COULD be comparable to Pujols?  Yes, I think the potential for Braun to be that special does exist and will probably come to fruition.  I could be wrong, but I dont think I am.

I would have rather given Cordero another chance before I spill 10 M on Gange.

As would I, the Brewers were never given the opportunity to make that descision though.  Cordero decided he was leaving and told Milwaukee as much before the negotiating even started.

I think the funniest thing about all this is going to be watching the Brewers fall flat on their faces

See this is the kind of post that gets Cub fans the reputation they have.  If the opposition losing a guy who couldnt win a game after the first month of the season is the key to the Cubs walking away with the division you must be the most uniformed Cub fan on the planet.

That quote about the Prince Fielder and cows reminds me of that bumper sticker I saw on a truck once.  "A village in Texas has lost their idiot."
