As many of you know I spend most of my time on this site arguing with other teams fans, usually Brewers fans. And while I love to whip other teams ' fans around as I usually do, but it's gotten really frustrating, and the season hasn't even started yet. When fans of other teams, who obviously don't know that much about baseball, keep calling me an idiot I get frustrated. So I've created this list, now its only quotes by Brewers fans and you're welcome to add your own and some from other teams, to vent. I know I'm a bit of a hypocrite for posting this here after complaining about people talking about other teams on here. I don't care. I know Cubs fans, and even sometimes myself, say some stupid things. I don't care.
- I'm happier that my team missed the playoffs than making it and getting swept. Maybe it's because they haven't been in over 25 years, but I think it's kinda obvious that making the playoffs is a good thing.
- Carlos Zambrano is on the downswing of his career and will have an ERA over 4 this season. Let's see he's about to turn into his prime (age 27 for most ballplayers) and has never in his career had a full season ERA over 4.
- The Brewers will have a top 5 bullpen because MLB.com says so. So because someone wrote it on a website it must be true.
- Bug Selig is intentionaly rigging games against the Brewers and for the Cubs because he is worried that the Cubs won't be able to sell the team. This one if incredibly rediculous. First the idea that former Brewers owner would be doing something intentional to hurt the Brewers. This also came out just after the NBA ref scandel, so if this came out it would demolish the credibility of baseball and demolish Selig's career althougher. Plus the idea that the Cubs need help to sell their frachise. It's not like the Cubs are one of the most popular franchise's in baseball whether they are in first place or last place.
- Cubs made the playoffs on a tecnicality. You know the Diamondbacks gave up more runs than they scored last year, I guess they made the playoffs on the same technicality the Cubs did. You know the one that says if you win the most games in your divison you make the playoffs. Silly rule.
- You only believe Jason Kendell is washed up cause he's a Brewers, he's only a year older than Derrek Lee. Hmm, you wouldn't think that it has to do with that Kendell is a catcher, a position much much more physically demanding than first base.
- You can compare Ryan Braun with Albert Pujols after 4-months of Braun's ML career. Pujols has put up phenominal numbers over a 7-year career...Braun over a 4 month span. Yeah they're sooo comparible.
- Jason Kendell will catch close to 150 games this season. Let's see he's almost 34 and hasn't caught 150 in a couple years, and is coming off a season where he only caught 134 games.
- Kendell will score the Brewers 30-40 more runs because some baseball mathmaticians say so. Then they go on to state that it's because of a career .375 OBP, completely disregarding that he had a .301 OBP last season. I've personally calculated how he will help the Brewers using some of the most complicated and accurate measures of stats, XRs, and under best-case scenarios (2005 numbers) he won't add close to 30-40 runs.
- And now for a special bonus one from a Yankee fan...Should the Cubs build a new stadium? I think they should. New stadiums are much cooler than old stadiums! And there is a lot of advanced technology in new stadiums! I don't even need to make a sarcastic comment to make this guy look like an idiot.
So can I get an amen?
