It's now time to start thinking about Syracuse football. It's going to be too hard to predict game this year because of team like WVU lost key players and we don't know how good they'll be.
Our Schedule:
8/30 @ Northwestern
9/6 vs. Akron
9/13 vs. Penn State
9/20 vs. Northeastern
9/27 vs. Pittsburgh
10/11 @ West Virginia
10/18 @ South Florida
11/1 vs. Louisville
11/8 @ Rugters
11/15 vs. Connecticut
11/22 @ Notre Dame
11/29 @ Cincy.

I don't know anything about Syracuse except for what I see on their schedule. Maybe 3-9?

I see 4 wins.
Too bad they couldn't schedule Southeastern and Southwestern. Then they can say they beat teams all over the nation.

I have seen the Cuse' play twice, both against Auburn. The first time was right after Sept. 11, you had Dwight Freeney, and it was in the Dome right after 9/11. It wasn't even a game. The following year it was down in Auburn and it went to overtime; great game with Cadillac Williams scoring the winning TD. Since the 01-02 stretch the Orangemen haven't had much to work with and don't see that changing anytime soon. Sorry bro.

I don't think you will beat Northwestern, I think it will be an upset in conference play, maybe Louisville. I do see your two other wins being against Akron and Northeastern.

Syracuse has had a tough time of it over the past few years. I am not sure it is going to change much this season.
I never understood why they got rid of Pasquenelli I am sure his 6-6 seasons did not seem so bad.

I don't know about beating Louisville, we were lucky to beat them last year and this year I don't think we will.

OK Mike I'll say 6-6. Don't ask me my reasons. I just have to think they are going to get it tunred around. I just can't get used to Syracuse being as bad as they have been. The dome is a hard place to play when the Cuse is rolling. I went there last season and not much excitement.

... Pasqualoni made a lot of stupid decisions. It was time for a change. He ran the option offense which is pretty much extinct in the game now days. All he liked to do was run the ball when we play in the controlled climate of a dome. He wasn't getting the recruits anymore anyways.. plus the blowout loss to GT in the bowl game 51-0 and then the loss to Temple really put the university in the hunt for a new coach.

if the Cuse is lucky, they'll go 2-10. they need change, starting with those ugly a$$ uniforms. i wonder if the football Gods went out for drinks and got toasted, threw up on syracuse and decided that they would wear those uni's?
chop off the dome too. football is meant to be played outside.
when did syracuse change their mascot to "the orange" at one point weren't they the orangemen?

chop off the dome too. football is meant to be played outside. That would mean that we need to buy a new seperate basketball facility, I think the university is way too cheap. I don't see it happening anytime soon. At least they have nice field turf. I agree that the orange uni's are ugly and you can go blind on them but the blue and orange ones and the white ones look pretty nice.

Syracuse really needs to find the right coach. The spread really needs to be put in. You get to still run the ball and have some options with it. Bring back Dick MacPherson!

Worst case scenario, 5-7 with BE wins over UConn and either Cincy or Rutgers.....and your coach still has a job in 2009.
Best case scenario, 1-11 with blowout losses to everyone from WVU to Akron, and a narrow victory over Northeastern.....and a new head coach in 2009.
I have much respect for Syracuse so please don't take this as a knock on your program, but GRob sucks. The longer he's there, the longer the climb to respectablity will be for you guys. I hope your AD figures it out.

I appreciate the kindness, but where've you been the last few seasons ?

Now that's something that I can agree with.

I thought I was the only one who was a Pasqualoni supporter. MacPherson and Pasqualoni were great recruiters and they were always competitive. Unfortunately, everybody now wants some kind of west coast offense. What's with those horrible uniforms? Go back to the uniforms you had in the 80's and 90's when you were finishing in the top 20. Donnie Mcpherson got screwed out of the Heisman! It still burns my ass. 2-10 and goodbye Robinson.
