Okay, like it or not the SEC is the strongest conference in all of college football with the toughest teams in the nation.  In recent history no conference keeps more teams ranked in the top 25 than the SEC.  Who cares what any teams OOC schedule "looks" like.  All of that is figured out as the season goes along and is worked into the system and then the rankings come out.

But for a Bucknut to create a thread calling ANY other teams schedule weak is simply laughable.  Maybe you forgot what all of the hype was about last season, besides the huge upsets.  It was OSwho's schedule.  I felt like I was reading the comics from the newspaper when looking at your schedule.  Good, you added USC to your OOC schedule but who is going to be a tough matchup for your in conference schedule because I know Michigan is out of the question.

It's like this,  The winner of the UF vs UGA game in Jacksonville will play for the National Championship and the other will get a different BCS bowl game.  The SEC will win it's THIRD national title in a row and continue it's dominance.

Go Gators ! !

I can't knock on UF's scheduling I even gave them credit earlier in the thread but can  you say with a straight face that UF has a better chance of getting a loss after playing their OOC schedule than tOSU.  UF will be heavily favored in all 4 by double digits  tOSU will be the underdog against USC . FSU will struggle bad this year , MIA may improve on their 5 wins but don't look for a complete turnaround in one year, HAW will not be near as good as last year and they were nothing to brag about last year. Question for you? Would you take the bucks and give me 7 points against USC if I would take UF and give you 7 against any of the 4 OOC teams they play?  Because if you would we need to talk.

\

when you schedule FSU and Miami you schedule them thinking they will be among the best in the country. You cant help that another team has a down year considering the schedule was made 3 years ago.

First, I think you have to seriously consider that LSU may have something to say about determining the SEC champ, much less the NC.

Second, I think you may very well have the SEC knocking each other out this year. The odds of a 2 loss team getting into the NC game two years in a row are pretty slim.

All that being said, "To Hell with Georgia!"

Because cornfielddawg, contrary to what some of our fellow SEC fans believe, they play very good football in other parts of the country too

Hey BIgDawg,

I agree with you.  I'd rather play home and home against pretty much any BCS team over playing Georgia Southern.  In my opinion those are no win, fairly useless games.

In my post, I was just trying to defend UGA's OOC schedule games in the 80's.  Dooley (i think) did a great job of getting good quality teams from major conferences around the country to come to Athens.  i can't believe they would all come to Athens without a return game at their own stadium.  But they did.  I don't think that's being afraid.  I think it's pretty clever scheduling.  We played tough teams and got them to come to our house.

That, combined with the fact that we WERE playing home and homes against South Car.; Clemson; and GT every year that decade, make the "lack of travel" look alot worse than it was.

Still, in TODAY'S BCS, we need to have a different mentality.  And, again, I'm all for dropping the DII games in favor of some quality home and homes against BCS teams.

Buckeye Todd,

Dont try to hide behind your job as to why you can't respond to your ridiculous thread........

YOUR logic is "mentally unstable", you just called out LSU on the OOC and they just smacked  down your sorry behind in January, so obviously your precious OOC is not that relevant in the long run........

Quit whining and feeling sorry for yourself and get a REAL schedule yourself.........USC can't bail you out all the time............

Oh, I remember alot of stuff, freshd!!!  And I remember when Penn State USED to be relevant, like in 1982..........those were the years man...........I was a good, ripe ol' age of 5.  Now I do remember you guys beating Tennessee, they have to answer to that..........but as for UGA, we haven't lost to a big 10 team in a bowl game for 18 years..........but we've won 11 games against you guys since then............Now I remember that my friend!!!

And I remember when Penn State USED to be relevant,

Right, Penn State wasn't relevant in 2005 when they finished #3 and won the orange bowl, they weren't relevant in 94 when they went undefeated and had five of their 11 offensive starters drafted in the first round of the next two NFL drafts.  They weren't relevant in 96 when they pounded Texas in the Fiesta.  They weren't relevant in 97 and 99 when they spent time on top of the polls in both those years.

Dude, UGA's history and tradition isn't even close to Penn State's, let it go.

By the way I don't care what you've done against Purdue or Iowa, you're 0-1 against us.  The best player in the history of your program couldn't hang with the Lions.

your end of the lesson friend.

Herschel rushed for 100 yards with two touchdowns in that game against Penn State. Couldn't hang?

FL had an average at best front 7, and a 1AA secondary.  Anyone with half a passing game would have walked up and down the field on them.

--------------------------------

Just very ypung last year but VERY talented. They couldnt read the offense which is a direct result of strating multiple true freshemen. That happens when you lose 9 starters from th eyear before and didnt have veterans to step in. All we had were recruits but hopfully this year they have grown up b/c if you give UF offense a defense they will be great

You do realize that you only picked one season in the past 10-15 years that Penn St had a good year. He said tht he remembered when Penn St was relevant, he was right. Penn St has had one year where they were competetive in the natl spotlight in a decade

So you were 3 years old during Georgia's glory year of 1980. You talk about slipping relevance . How about the two decade long journey to get out from under being the third best team in a six team division. Only to start feeling the tug of the more irrelevant South Carolina. Thinking hoping dreaming .....  that 2008 maybe it. But there are four or five other equally talented teams that have percieved easier roads to the NC especially since you have already exhausted the wins per decade ration against Florida.

Good luck on you quest.
