Ron Mexico,
How was scheduling Clemson and Tech different than scheduling TCU or Texas Tech or Washington State or Iowa State or Maryland? Just because we played our away game in Death Valley or Grant Field or whatever, how is that different than playing in Ft. Worth or whatever. You are right about outside the south. That does not mean a difference in quality. If you are a Georgia grad, then you know the vast majority of the years since 65 when we went to Ann Arbor we have played Clemson, South Carolina and Tech home and home. All three are BCS teams. Clemson won a National Championship in 81 and Tech in 90.
How many other teams have a home game away from home every other year? Texas and OU and Florida and Army and Navy. WHo else?
I am glad with the 12th game we can start scheduling OOC home and away with teams from around the nation.

Wow guys, It's only March! we haven't even had the spring games yet. Wait till August.
Couple of things. I agree that Florida was better than Penn State last year. The person that stated "we could have just focused on the run" was 100% correct. However, I think our D would have put up a good fight especially if Tom Bradley had a month to prepare for you.
The way I see next year is as follows:
Big Ten:
Ohio State = Great Team
Penn State = Very Good
Wisconsin = Very Good
Illinois = Very Good Very Good means 11-1 to 9-3
Michigan = Good (they have a lot of question marks but could surprise next year, I wouldn't be shocked by 10-2)
Mich State = Good (Dantonio is doing a great job there)
Purdue = average
Indian = average
Iowa = average
N'wester = below average
Minnesota = porr
SEC
Georgia = Great Team
Florida = very good
Tennessee = very good
S. Carolina = Good
Kentucky = average
Vandy = below average
LSU = Very good to great ( not sure what they lost)
Auburn = Very good to great
Bama = Good
Ark = average
Miss St = average
Ole Miss = below average
Georgia, Fla, Tenn, LSU, Auburn I think all have potential to be a top 5 team, head to head play will prevent that
Ohio State is clearly the odds on favorite to win the big ten, I think Penn State and Wisconsin have an outside shot and as I mentioned Michigan could always surprise.
SEC should be a little stronger but not by much. In my humble opinion.

And the Tech game is a game we play every year. In the early 90's that meant we were playing a national championship contender. In the 2000's it hasn't quite meant that, but seriously, bro. That does not REMOTELY mean UGA is afraid to play big OOC games.
Youngstown State
Ohio
Troy
(of course they all might be better than minnesota)
Excuse me but didn't Troy give Georgia a good game last year?

Pretty good roarlion and I agree with almost all. Only things, Florida probably has a potentional to be great, should be very to great category, I believe Wisconsin deserves to be in the very good to great category also, maybe Penn St but I don't know as much about them and if their new Qb will be good. Kentucky could probably go to below average without Woodsen and Ark will probably be below average this year. Ole Miss will probably be average though suprisingly.

Yep, two lousing turnovers in the first quarter got them off to a good start, but we scored 44 on them. 42 on Florida the week before and 45 on Auburn the week after.
Georgia's defense can at least defend the spread.

UGA fans.....stop being suckered.....
Take a second and realize something. Todd is only talking about OOC games because that's all he thinks they have that is better than UGA.
But in reality, USC and ASU are not that far apart. Then compare C. Mich, Ga. Southern, and Ga Tech, with Youngstown St, Ohio, and Troy, and you see that UGA might even have a better OOC.
But then again....NONE OF THAT MATTERS!!!! You play 12 games, 13 if you can handle it. NOT JUST 4!!! Stop looking towards OOC to sleep better at night. Your SOS is down lately. Deal with it. Stop attacking others who are getting your spotlight now.
Todd, I normally like your posts and think your arguments are well thought out and realistic. But I have to say, I disagree with this line of thinking whole-heartedly, and I hope you come to your senses soon.
