I am very upset about what happened the Josh Fields. He proved himself last year to be a young stud in the making and what do we do ship him to the minors for Joe "
Hack" Crede who is batting like .075 and who's fielding has been a joke so far this season. This is a terrible mistake to try and make a trade. Does Kenny even want to win this year? WTF is all I can say. I am a true White Sox fan. I loved what Joe Crede did for us in 05, but I also want to see us win and with a week bat like Crede I do not think he is our answer at 3rd. Maybe this will be good for Josh Fields to get his strike outs down but still this demotion seems a little harsh.

I'm anxious to see Fields too, but you have to give Crede a little slack. It is going to take a little while for Joe to get his timing back, and play at the level he is capable of. It is in the White Sox best interest to play Joe to see if we can get anything for him in a trade. The Sox gain nothing by playing Fields and let Crede rot on the bench. If Crede's play improves when the real games start, and the Giants or Dodgers up the ante and make a trade with us, we will be able to move the rest of Crede's salary, and get something in return for him. And I don't think the Sox are going to keep going with Crede if his numbers don't improve over spring training's.
Plus, Fields could honestly work on cutting down his strike outs and learning to be more discipline at the plate. I'd rather he work on that in Charlotte than up in the bigs.

Exactly, that’s what the minor leagues are for.
This guy needs to learn contact and how to move to his left. It seems like 90%of the people on this board see nothing but a few home runs and completely miss what it takes to win games.

Joe "Hack" Crede
NEVER call Joe Crede that again, the man has been an amazing player here for us, I realize that you're upset that Josh Fields went to the minors (we all know my position on this), but don't undermine Joe's skills, he's been a GG calibur 3rd baseman here, and a clutch hitter.

You call yourself a true White Sox fan, yet you call Joe Crede a "hack"? You must be out of your friggin' mind.
Nobody needs to explain to you the contributions Crede has made to the Sox. If you can't figure that out, you're a lost cause.
Strictly from a business point of view, this is a smart play. KW is looking to drive his value up and trade him to the highest bidder.

The thing about Josh Fields, is this reminds me of the exact same situation from 1999 with Carlos Lee. Everybody knew he could hit, and was coming up as a 3rd baseman who wasn't really that good at the position to begin with. Rather then move the incumbent (who was it then? Greg Norton?) they chose to put him in left field, where we had a hole as well, to get his bat in the lineup. "El Cabayo" turned out to be an at least average LF, and it turned out well for everybody. Since Josh Fields isin't the greatest 3rd baseman anyways; Crede is in his way; we don't have a left-fielder anyways... I am confused as to why this isin't deja-vu. But what do I know?

They tried Fields in left last season, and he was absolutely awful, I mean I could've been a better fielder there.

Joe Crede was a great player but i think he might need a month to get back he was hurt all year and he needs more training b4 he plays again i think they should use Josh Fields for a month so Crede gets more trained so he can play 100%

Ok, Fields was not awful. As someone already posted, Crede and Fields' fielding stats are not too far off from eachother. For some reason, Crede is treated as a god because of ONE season he had (in which he could not snatch the gold glove from Eric Chavez) and Fields is perceived as some Joe Borchard type player.
I honestly have no idea what Williams has in mind for what he can get for Crede and I really do hope he is able to dump Crede by the trading deadline so we arent left with a pie in our face like we were last season when Kenny failed to pull the trigger on the Contreras deal.
