I have been out of the baseball loop, pretty much missing 2 seasons and only catching bits and pieces on ESPN once in a while.  I know about our implosion last year but wanted some gouge to get up to speed a little before opening day.  What are our Dodgers looking like in '08?

While I am sure every one will give you thier honest opinion, Im sure the news may be a little slanted.

That being said, we should win the world series easy.

Last year our team was led by a manager, Grady Little, who didnt know how to tie his own shoes. And the GM is an Ex Giant. So they signed all these old, over the hill guys, and one really fast outfielder who BLOWS! and then the only guys who actually played and produced were the young guys. And then at the end of the season, when we were only a game out of first, the clubhouse went into a total drama battle royale and they sucked it up all of September.

Enter Joe Torre this year, the "kids" arent so young anymore and are experienced, and exit Juan Pierre from the starting line up and you got yourself a really good club

Would you say we are a lock for the West?

I don't think we are a lock for the West... with the exception of the Giants, the West is the toughest division top to bottom. We can do it, but it's definitely no lock.

I support the move of Pierre going to bench and Either taking his spot i think the Dodgers are a potential wild card team maybe even better. The Diamondbacks are by far more threatening the the Rockies because the pitching in arizona is insane. while the rockies pitching needs help francis can't do everything himself in that rotation. The rockies do have a strong line-up, but the diamondbacks are just behind them with their young players as well. Now for the dodgers, they have a well-balanced team lots of speed of course pitching is above average. contact is great but the power is still average Andruw Jones is great player to add for power if he can return to his 50 homerun season form. With that The dodgers could be world champs this is year, but it will take a load of teamwork.
