Barkley is so good!.  I agree with Dodd.  I think that the Oakland Raiders will have the first pick of the 2012 draft and they will pick the 2 time heisman winner Barkley with the first pick of the draft.

The kid sounds too good to be true. Let's just hope he doesn't burn out and turn to the dark side ala Mr. Marijuanavich. His folks sound pretty grounded, not like drill seargents so hopefully he won't rebell when he leaves the nest. The lad sounds like he is a hard worker, focused and highly motivated. Good luck to him. Oh, and Fight On!

This kid got man-handled against Crespi and threw two crucial interceptions against Orange Lutheran. Both good squads but Mater Dei should have won... and lets not blame the running game because if he was that good he would have overcame the deficit. He'll do good at USC but lets hold off on him winning two heisman's. And the Raiders get the first pick in 2012... do you watch football?

Seriously don't let you being a USC fan cloud your judgment. You never know how a kid will do going from high school to college. How many five star recruits turn out to be flops when they face actual competition? But wait they are in the Pac 10 which is kind of like facing high school teams all over again...So disregard my previous comments...

him being the first pick in 2011 is impossible, he's not even a highschool seior till next year, that means the end of his freshman year will be 2010 which means he'll have to wait atleast till 2012 and i highly doubt he'll even enter then. He'll definately red-shirt his first year i wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see him till the 2014 draft, 2013 at the earliest i think.

Crespi had a great defense led by the MLB going to ND. Orange Lu has been great on defense the last few years. SC has picked up some great talent from there.

As for the Raiders #1 Draft Pick in 2012, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have the #1 pick at all considering the way Al Davis runs the team.

The Raiders have spent a lot of money this off-season and the improvements by Russell and the addition of an early pick should make them pretty good next season. Every game they played they were in... no blow outs. Don't underestimate the Raiders in the West.

What has Denver done?

What about KC?

We know SD will never get over the hump... the Radiers are just waiting in the wings.

i think only the first post and the poster are jokes, i mean come on the Raiders should take him with the first pick???? what are you smoking?? they just drafted JaMarcus Russell first overall and untill he gets a few years to start and completely sucks at it you can't say he's not the guy of the future, he's already played college ball and been dominate yet Barkley hasn't even played his senior year of high school yet how on earth can you say he will be their guy when Russell hasnt even got a shot yet.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, BUT...  Did you just try to guess the first pick of the 2012 Draft??  Wow...

We're talking about a kid... A junior in high school.  The stat line for his sophomore year was impressive, but there's two years left where anything could happen.

You could see a career-ending injury, a loss for the love of the game, or the kid loses his head amidst all of this pressure.  To be pegged as the next Heisman winner for USC, you better be ready to keep your head on straight and stay grounded.  The media may blow this kids full of hot air and give him a bigger ego than warranted.

I'm not trying to look at all the negatives, but this kid is a junior in high school having people predict when he goes in the NFL.  Hopefully he handles all of the hype like LeBron.  If Dodd has any accuracy in this article (THREE FRIGGIN PAGES?), I'm sure we'll be learning more about this kid in the future...
