I need your help. I have entered a league and it has something that I am not used to at all. I have to draft whole pitching staffs instead of individual pitchers. First of all has anyone ever played in a league like this, maybe you could give me some advice as to how many staffs to draft. Do I draft one and a backup? or a couple backups I am really lost. Please give me your ideas on who to draft and possibly when to draft them. I am totally lost and could use all the help I could get. Thanks

san diego... great pitchers pitching in a pitcher's park... they have one of the best rotations and relief.
if this isn't including relief, then I'd say take the Diamondbacks.... Mariners are another solid option along with the Mets (if pedro stays healthy and perez and maine keep it up).
come to think of it the detroit Tigers should be okay this season too with the rotation but their relief is terrible.

i say the Angels have the best rotation in baseball. they are DEEP. the #1 and #2 pitchers are currently out. you'd think, on any team if that happened, they'd be in deep trouble. with Al Saunders, Dustin Mosely, and Nick Adenhart expected to arrive in the bigs sometime this year, the Angels are still very good, still better than most clubs. Angels ! no brainer.

I'd have to agree with the Angels, based on depth.
Without question, the Mets staff has the most (reasonable) potential of any in baseball. Of course, its very dependent on health and whether or not Maine and Perez continue to perform.

In the AL, by the end of April we may have the Rays in the top 5. And the Cardinals definitely have to be out of the NL. They would probably fall in the bottom 5. Surprisingly enough, I think the Pirates may have the 5th best in the NL.

I debated putting the Rays in there, too. I kind of like their rotation, but their bullpen is still a mess, or at least a question mark.
Regarding the Red Sox, if Beckett makes 30+ starts, I don't know how you can keep them out. They have a real solid bullpen, a very good closer, and the rotation looks pretty good with Beckett at the top.
If Beckett doesn't hit that start number, they fall quite a bit, of course.

Padres, Diamondbacks, and Indians are the prime ones. After that, you have alot of second tier that you have to go with your gut on. Then you have the thrid tier that I wouldn't bother with unless you see a staff of alot of young pitchers that potentially have breakout years together.

How can the Padres be in there when their #4 and 5 are Mark Prior and Randy Wolf? Those two guys havent been able to pitch a whole season in over 3 years.
Indians have my pick

Take the Angels out of any list.
Escobar just came out and said he has a tear in his shoulder, and it may be career ending. Add that on top of Lackey being hurt.
