A quality Siena win over Vanderbilt, which was a true 20 point win over a good SEC foe says a lot for the quality of play in the MAAC. This was obviously not a shared view, however, as Rider was passed up for the NIT. Ridiculous that this league can not get an NIT bid for their runner-up when they let sub .500 teams into that tourney.

It seems more and more that the NCAA is about the big teams and conferences. You would think that with the sucess of the tournament so centered around the San Diego, Davidson and Western Kentucky type of wins, they would try to create more big/mid-major matchups to have the opportunity to create that type of magic.

Niagara is going to really have to be successful on the recruiting trail to catch up to Siena, who has everyone of note coming back.
