As a NOVA fan, I know that anything can happen if Scotty Reynolds and Corey Stokes have a big night.  That being said, Kansas is a much more well rounded, experienced, and complete team than NOVA.  IT will be a tough game for NOVA to win, but it would be a mistake for Kansas to underestimate them.

KU obviuosly huge favorite. But, take a look at what happened last time KU was huge favorite over VU. At that time they were undefeated AND 2nd ranked in the country. Go to .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHc10g_SK7I and you will "see" what happened.

I  picked KU to go all the way BUT I give Nova a 50/50 chance.  I think they match up well physically except for the 2 bigs Kaun & Aldrich BUT looking at the bigs time played over the last 4-5 games or so, they don't play major minutes and they don't score lots of points or really kill the opposition on the boards.  Vs UNLV 13 minutes; vs. Port 22 minutes; vs Tx 26 minutes; vs K State 26 minutes.  They're not going to hurt you if they don't play. Also, Nova generally plays 8 with major double digit minutes and can play 10 if need be where as KU generally plays 7, maybe 8.  That can wear on KU.  I haven't really watched KU play a lot BUT I don't buy they're much more athletic than VU.VU can match KU shot for shot and even better maybe.  Their guards can drive and kick it out or create for themselves.  Their front court is under rated.  BUT it's the defense and taking care of the ball that will win it.  VU has been playing better D lately, BUT that's the challenge.

I think the pressure is on KU because they disappointed the past few years. VU is mentally tough (witness the comeback against Clemson (18 down) and against LSU early in the year.-21 down) And I personally give the coaching edge to Jay Wright--a great motivator.  NOW with all that said, you still have to PLAY THE GAME AND EXECUTE.

KU is one of the top 5 most athletic teams in the country, the athletic advantage has to go to KU over Nova.  KU has better shooters, more depth in the front court and plays better defense.  I find it hard to believe that someone on  this board is trying to explain to us that Nova is deeper than KU.  Are you serious????  We have 7 guys that can lead our team in scoring any given night and 9 guys that play pretty much every single game.  Dont try to tell me that Nova is deeper.  That being said, you dont get to the sweet 16 if you are not playing good ball.  KU cannot let their gaurd down or they will not make it past this round, however if they show up and play decent, on to the next round.

You may be right. On paper, you are right. BUT they have to play the game. Did you think Georgetown would be out now?  Who thought a Nova team would win in 85 over GT? Everybody thought that the real championship game was between GT and St. John's.  Who thought NC State was going to beat Houston in 83 or whatever.  I know a 12 has never beaten a 1. BUT that doesn't mean it can't and won't happen.  KU may have an edge in athleticism BUT I don't discount Nova., I can live with the matchups. They are young and tough. They're coached well and they have heart. And sometimes it's the "breaks". Defense will tell the story, and so will keeping T/O's to a minimum.  I expect a lot of fouls. I still say 50/50 and I won't be surprised if it happens.

A 20 point KU victory shouldnt suprise you either.

There is no one really left who is near KU in athelticism and offensive output. KU is also an awsome defensive team as well. Just wait till tonite Nova fans. You guys had youre run and it was nice. But speaking on a historical basis only, no 12 seed has ever beaten a one seed. And KU never came close to a5 game losing streak either.

Rockchalk!

I want Nova to win but I doubt it. I picked Kansas to win the whole thing and Nova to get knocked out in the first round.
