I've watched alot of basketball this year and in my opinion the Badgers and Jayhawks play the best team ball. Not depending on one super star or 2 makes it less likely to be defeated mentally at the end of the game when the going gets tough.Anyone on the badgers can sink the winning shot and noones afraid to take it.Kansas reminds me a bit of Magic Johnson and flying, passing offense and all the players seem to be involved.
I agree! I'm a huge Badger fan! But, I must admit...I'd love to see wisconsin play kansas. I think they both play similar styles of basketball. Not to mention the coaches have seen each other before when Self coached at Illinois!
I think it'll be a great game...and either team that wins ...will definitely be deserving of a final four bid. Hopefully now one of the two don't choke and we won't get to see this matchup.
I agree im a big KU fan and want to see the matchup you have to play the best teams to win it all. KU has 6 players who can drop 30 on you but would rather have 6 gys in double figures, thats happened 7 times this year. There guard trio is the best in the country and there big men are fast and run the floor really well. Wisconsin has the advantage inside in strength even though Jackson is a bull. IMO the game will come down to how well 7th man Shasa Kaun plays, (Which should scare KU fans lol) at 6 11 he is a force (I heard one NBA scout say he will have a longer NBA career then anyone on the team) and totally unstopable inside when he is on his game. LOL that only happens about 50 percent of the time. If he plays well he can shut down Wic inside game and let the guards create havic all over the court. If he comes out missing dunks and turning the ball over KU will be in trouble.
Wisconsin is very long and I believe it would be a battle inside against KU. With Aurthor, Jackson, Kahn and even Aldrich coming around, KU has the edge. KU has the definite edge at the guard position. No doubt both teams need to be on in order to win. Lets just hope they get by Nova and Davidson so we can see the match-up.
Doesn't Wisconsin play Davidson and Kansas play Villanova on Friday? I know we're comparing Bucky and KU here, but what would the point be if one or both were to lose on Friday night?
Indeed Chuck33, that's why they play the games. As a KU guy stuck in Milwaukee I already have a bunch of KU/WI bets just in case they match up. If they do meet, can WI slow us down enough to take us out of our game? They did it to Texas, but I think KU is on a different level right now.
But you're right, we could be talking about the Davidson/Villanova matchup just as much as KU/WI.
Believe me when I tell you this: KANSAS WILL NOT BE COCKY AGAINST WISCONSIN. This comes from a Kansas fan. We respect that ball club you guys got up there. It'll be a great game.
jross1972 - I must admit, I don't find many NON-cocky KU fans around Kansas City and it is refreshing to see someone from Jayhawk land show some respect. I am just hoping for this matchup because I think it will be a clash of some pretty good basketball teams. I would love to see Kansas win to keep the excitement level up with the tournament here locally but I would also love to see Wisconsin get to the Final Four as a matter of Big 10 pride.
The combination of KU's talent and maturity should help them handle what will be a very tough defensive effort from the Badgers. The question is whether Wisconsin can lock down the multiple weapon threat from KU AND/OR score enough to keep pace. If the game gets into the 80's, it favors the Hawks - a game in the low 70's or high 60's could be what Wisconsin needs to win.
If you ask me, a Kansas/Wisconsin match-up would be the best of the tourney! I am so excited for this potential match-up, so we better make sure we take care of business against davidson first. assuming kansans and wisconsin move on into the elite 8, I predict Kansas winning by 2, but I will be rooting for my badgers for sure.
Nice to see a constuctive thread without all the usual sophmoric trash talk. I'll give that guy from Nova a pass since we are looking past his team (I'd be PO'd too) and Davidson which is mighty dangerous, so I'm knocking on wood. (knock, knock).
If KU and UW meet up I think it will be a good game if it stays close. If KU gets up 10-12 we'll have to really control the tempo to hang with them. They have a really balanced team with a lot of talent, and it won't be the usual Flowers shutdown, eveybody will need a great game or it could get out of hand.
One thing to watch is free throws. UNLV took 34 free throws against KU, and Wisconsin has always done a good job of getting to the line. If UW plays its usual game and gets 30 tries from the stripe, it's a different ballgame.
Hey guys way to keep it classy. 79badger that is a great point about free throws, that may be the way the badgers hang if it comes to that game. Should be a great game on Sunday! Hopefully Bucky can handle Davidson and Kansas can handle their own Wildcats
