I actually just bought the Show last night. The only thing I don't like about it is that it takes forever to load but other than that it's great.

The Show hands down!

My only issue with The Show is the Slow Load times... but I love commentary, and all the little details.

MLB 2K8... on the other hand has a ton of Bugs, glitches, and other technical problems mar nearly every aspect of the game. On the positive sideL it does have lots of game modes, and a 2K Card feature (plus some other new features).

So if you want a game that plays well but is similiar to last year then the Show is for you, If you like new features and can get over the bugs of the game MLB2k8 is the game for you.

If you ask me... THE SHOW is the one to get if you have a PS3!

are more interested in the simulation and accuracy of these games, not so much in quality of play...So which is better in that regard?

Definately the show. I finally went out to buy a baseball game last year, and I bought both.  Returned one a few days later, kept the Show.  The gameplay is just so fluid, love the pitching controls, so much more strategy in the game.  There really isn't any single aspect of the game of baseball not covered in the game, you can practically do anything (except get someone who's not a pitcher to pitch...I've gotten all but 1 pitcher ejected by continuelessy beaning opposing batters...it was a lot of fun, but that last one never gets ejected).

Slow load times can be a pain at times, but the presentations are cool.  Also, the game is highly statistical.  There isn't a single stat that game doesn't record except for individual vs. matchups...like it won't tell you how well a batter does against a team or pitcher, which is really fricking amazing still considering the amount of players and games it has to go through in a season.

The stadium graphics are like spot on, but as always the fans leave something to be desired (but really, what game actually has the fans in the seats done really well).

Definately, The Show.

(plus Ryan Howard is on the cover)
