First of all, who is Lyle Crouse?

Second, what is this guy talking about?  Maybe it's me or my East coast bias, but I don't think Jason Kidd has the legs to run up and down the court anymore.  He can't shoot, he can't run, the only thing he can do is slow down the game and pass.  I watched him miss countless open or forced shots over the last 2 weeks, there's a reason Dallas was 0-7 with Kidd against winning teams.  Jason Kidd's team?  He's not even the best point guard on this Mavericks team; Jason Terry is and he's not a point guard.

No, personally, I don't think losing Dirk Nowitzki will hurt the Mavs that much, that's only because they weren't going anywhere with him because of that debacle of a trade.  Losing Devin Harris was a disaster, but even worse they lost Diop and any inside presence they had prior.  They have no one to clog the gaps, what is this team going to do in the playoffs against any of the West's top bigs?  Lakers with Pau, Bynum, and Odom will eat them up.  Spurs with Duncan, Suns with O'Neal and maybe the best big of all, Amare Stoudemire?  Heck, even the Hornets with David West and Tyson Chandler are too much for them.  Erick Dampier is their best "big" now that Dirk is gone, and he's the biggest waste of talent in the league (okay, Kwame Brown is a bigger waste).

Bye, bye Dallas, good luck in the lottery.

I'm just glad that this trade faired worse than my Suns trade for Shaq, which has been working as of late.  I think that the Mavs will still make the playoffs though.  It's gonna be gritty and I think a couple of the other western teams will have to lose some too, but I think they will still make it.  Out in the first round, but they'll make it.

I understand the criticism Zion but I think Kidd does have the legs. Thursday night may prove me wrong, but I think Dallas will be a dark horse come playoff time (yes they make the playoffs).

Second - Spurs above the Suns. Suns won 7 in a row - Spurs 3. Suns have a better record. wth?!

The Mavs still have enough talent to get to the playoffs however I do not think they will get out of the first round. Diop was a beast for them on defense and with Dampier down there, they're asking for trouble.

Oh and the BIGGEST waste of space is Michael Olowakandi.. at least Kwame can set some picks here and there

This has to be the most shoddy Power Ranking post ever - seriously, do they really people these guys?  Look at the descriptions - it looks like a pre-schooler wrote it

This could be a blessing in disguise for the Mavs. Other players are now forced to step up their games in order for the Mavs to even reach the playoffs.

If they do rally together and pull out some meaningful wins against quality teams in the West they could be a much improved team when Dirk returns.

As usual, no love for the Hornets!  Dallas is done, Denver is in.  How can the Lakers still be ranked that high?  no Pau no Bynum....and for all you who believe that the Lakers are going to the Championship,  think again....pau and bynum are yet to play together,  the triangle offense will suck come playoff time,  without this team getting substantial playing time together.  Derek "the flop" Fisher has definately lost a couple steps.

Have you seen Jason Kidd play this year? What are you talking about? Saying Jet is better than Kidd at the 1 is proof  that you must be crazy as he!!. Your second paragraph wasn't even better...Dirk Nowitzki is a scoring machine, losing him for any game hurts the Mavericks. Please, don't bother to post anything about the Mavs again if your going to be an idiot. Oh,thats right...your a pats fan.

No doubt its East Coast bias as usual.  I mean I know Denver has its up and downs, but come on Cleveland and Orlando ahead of them?  The Nuggets have played well considering their injuries, Nene was a big part of their team and would have definitely added a few more to the WINS column.  I was disappointed that they didn't make a trade and let Lenas go to pick up someone like Miller from Memphis.
