Who do you think the Chiefs take for their first pick of the 2008 Draft and why? does it help or hurt the Chiefs?

According to NFL.Network interview, Jake Long isn't on the list of about 30 players the Chiefs want to interview.  I don't know why.  I hope they go after the best player available and not the cheapest.  It may just be a smoke screen to make other teams think we aren't interested in him, but I really think they will to trade down, or take Dorsey or Ellis if we can't.

This was an interview with Herm , by the way.  He reported Jake Long is not on their list.

We need Long he is who im sold on. I just hope that if he is gone that we dont do what the Cardinals did last year with Levi Brown. Take the next line men because they were sold on Linemen for the first round. If Jake Long is gone we should get Sedrick Ellis, I love Vernon Gholston but we don't need defensive ends or outside linebackers. I have been thinking what if we traded with a team in the top ten. Baltimore maybe if Matt Ryan is still there at the 5th pick, they need a QB and if we are serious about getting Sedrick Ellis. This should only happen if Jake Long is gone.

Could you imagine if Jake Long was available and the Chiefs did not take him? Chiefs fans would freak out, Carl and Herm would be the most hated people in Kansas City. Then it turns out the guy they pick, say Matt Ryan, sucks, and Jake Long is playing great on the Broncos or something like that. Ha ha ha ha that would be something that happens to the Chiefs for sure. Kind of like Kawicka Mitchell being the starting linebacker in the Superbowl, and Herm pissed at Napolian Harris.

Go Chiefs

Yea, that's the Carl Peterson way, lol...Let a good player go then sign him again 8 years later....But if Jake Long is off the board it's not the end of the world, alot of people are speculating that he's a sure fire RT and Clady is the best true LT...I would be highly P.O'd for about 5 mins if we don't pick up a tackle in the first rd. Then try to come to logic with the pick....But my money is on either Clady or Long as the first pick....

Knowing Carl, they probably don't want to pay the money for a 5th round pick.  I think they will do everything they can do trade down.  Maybe go after Clady or Otah.  Hell, I don't know what they will do, but the future of the team is riding on their decisions.  I wish Carl would have picked up a few younger free agents, especially for the O-line.  We can't fill 3 holes in the draft.  We will either all be pretty pissed come draft time, or maybe have a clue what they are doing.  Who knows.  We have 30 milion in salary cap space, which is now the most in the league, and Carl is afraid to utilize it.  Probably another long season for our team.

Well, one good thing, the Chiefs have plenty of cap room to sign who they want, I think it is like 30 million under the cap.

Go Chiefs

I would riot if the Chiefs pass on Jake Long!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even a chiefs fan and I would be horribly upset if they pass on this dude. Mainly because I cant live with another losing season with a chiefs fan in the house
