Does it really matter who gets the love in March.  Look how much love was bestowed on Southern Cal  and Michigan this time last year.    Did anyone think Kansas or Missouri would have the team they did.  Not a national championship but a year most teans would love to have.

I also find it interesting that only BCs titles matter, kind of like NFL Championships prior to the Super Bowl not mattering any more.

Since OSU is playing troy this year, all I can say is don't think it is a easy win then. Those guys are extremely fast. Better watch it. Wouldn't be surprised if they get the upset. Happened to the other OSU last year.

And OSU had a ten times weaker schedule last year.

OSU finished up 38th, UGA finished up 9th in SOS.  Not exactly 10 times but considerably tougher.

and a BIG 10 schedule that was about like the WAC this year.

I hope this wasn't a serious statement.

GenieCarb,

Excuse me. I am pretty new to posting on this web site so I did not know about the "no exadurating" policy. I should have said "much weaker" or "4.22 times weaker." And instead of saying "about like the WAC this year" I should have just said "a BIG 10 schedule that was worse than any of the other 6 BCS conferences" Good luck to Ohio State this year and congrads on Pryor choosing "the University of Ohio State"

GenieCarb,

I sure hope it wasn't a serious statement, but who knows.

The Dawgs should get love this year based on the end of last year.  That being said, we have a long way to go.  The schedule is brutal.  After early games at South Carolina and Arizona State we get Bama and UT back to back Between the Hedges.  Then, in consecutive weeks we play LSU in Baton Rouge, Florida in Jacksonville, UK in Lexington and Auburn on the Plains.  We close out the regular season with Tech at Sanford.  It is going to be a war each week and it will require playing our best, few injuries and the ball bouncing the right way.  LSU, Florida, Uk and Auburn on 4 consecutive weekends away from Athens will be a gauntlett.

I also don't think our defense has anything to prove.  We are physical and fast and have a lot of depth.  The offensive line has matured and Stafford and company should be putting plenty of points on the board.  But we had sure better be playing one game at a time or we won't be looking at an SEC title, which the only thing we can really control.

Good points cooldawg, anyone who says that UGA had a weak schedule only needs to see how many teams they played that were ranked in the top 15 on and off all last year. Mention SC as a weak opponent, well they don't really know how the SEC goes every year and not to mention it is always a dawgfight when the Ole Ball Coach is attached to it. UT being weak, well let's not forget who won the SEC!!! Sure UGA would have faired well regardless of who they played last year, they were a top 2 team on any poll you look at and of course there is a ton more that goes into ranking a team through the polls than a couple of biased big10 fans. They have arguably one of the toughest schedules ever this year, It makes me worry a bit as to some of the opponents they have as to which will be the hiccup game. Anyway, UGA is getting exactly what they deserve thus far, only fans can hope that it continues through the season after piling on wins. I can't wait to see how many losses and who they come from, those being the losses by the "cream" of the big 10 osu... Troy is going to give them all they can handle, bet it!!!  Hopefully for the big 10 faithful osu won't have to get to a game where the SEC will humiliate them again...

Semolas,

I guess compared to Vince's teams we are a modern day version of BYU and Miami.  But, I was actually wondering the same thing?

After reading this thread, I just have one question.....when did we become a passing school?
I believe I started that because it is the truth.  Reality check brother....Until last year UGA had not had a back with 1000+ yards since Musa Smith I believe...and before that....who?

Even if I am wrong off the top of my head....UGA has only had one, maybe two backs since Herschel that made an impact in this league.  No standouts.  For years UGA has focused more on the passing game, especially under Richt.  Under Richt's era....when you think of great seasons....you are not thinking of your backs....you are thinking of names like Shockley....Greene....and now Stafford.....Moreno might change things a bit....but the bottom line is UGA has always had some guys that could have been greats...but because the running game has always taken a back seat to passing at UGA...names like Lumpkin, Brown and others will be just remembered as average backs when they could have been Heisman candidates in the right system.

If Richt will mix it up like he did towards the end last year you guys could be lethal....but I am guessing Stafford will be the show...and he will screw it up.

I mean honestly...I want a UGA fan on here to tell me there best backs since Herschel....then I want a fan to tell me there best QB's.  The list will speak for itself.
