What's going with the move to TE?I thought he might be athletic enough to move to safety, but TE!We have Bynam,im not sure if Baldwin is playing Te or Wr but are we wasting this kids talent?I felt that way about Strong,i went to every Pitt game since 03 and watchn Strong warm up throwing the ball and catchn i thought we could have taken better advantage of his abilities but maybe there was something going on i didn't know.I Live in Ambridge and watched him against my Bridgers when he was at West A and he played S/CB and ran a pick back for a score and looked like he belonged with the ball in his hands. What do u guys think?

It is so frustrating when I see this happening.  They should have never played him his freshman year.  He was involved in what like 10 gimmicky type plays that took his RS?  Last year everyone including beat writers stuck to their guns that he just needed to learn the LB position and he would be fine...now they move him to TE where Nate Byham, a former #1 TE prospect, and John Pelusi are already competing for time.  I just really feel like they wasted his time and talent.  If I was a recruit and knew or saw how good Dorin was in HS, and then see how Pitt threw him around, not just from position to position but from Offense to Defense to Offense again, it would definitely negatively effect my view of the team.  Granted I think we have a solid team going into next year, I just feel with this kids athleticism he could be more productive elsewhere.  As far as safety is concerned I would consider it but Elijah Fields should be eligible and is apparently a MONSTER as safety and they have Thatcher and DeCicco to play the other slot.  I wish Dorin all the best and hope he can really turn it out at the TE position because it would be a reaaal shame to see his time here at Pitt wasted when he has all the potential in the world to be a star.

I still think he should be at LB and last year he should have redshirted, also he could have been a good SS. But sometimes a player takes a long time to develop from high school to college and we don't know if this is the case, all we know is we like the kid.

He is a tough one to place. The safety positions are going to be very competitive...does he really stand a chance there? Our WRs are deep...would he get sufficient playing time there? Our LBs are pretty good...this is probably his best shot at playing time (at least on defense), but is that really where he belongs?

Honestly, I don't really see a problem with him moving to TE (if he would really end up there). Byham would be the starter, obviously. But Dickerson could see a lot of quality playing time there, and he could really contribute. He bulked up last year for LB, so he should be able to handle the blocking aspect. His hands and speed are pretty good, so he could line up in the slot. Basically, he is a good offensive weapon, and TE might be the spot most open for him.

Remember, the TE position is very versatile nowadays. Successful TEs in today's game are athletes, not just big, slow blockers.

I totally follow all the logic you guys have put out there and it is easy to see that he is a great fit for a tight end.  He has some size, especially now that he bulked up like panther said, and he has speed and hands to cause match up problems with some LBs.

I am just frustrated to see him bounced around so much.
