The poster was clearly talking about Michigan until this point "If ND looks good vs SDS this game will be huge in restoring respect to ND."

Come on maize, don't be one of those poster, I like a good debate between a rival fan, but one thing that I can't stand is the proof reader poster, we all know these people, don't they just annoy the hell out of you. This is cbssportsline, not an english class, don't be a  tool.

First of all, I just want to see that Rich Rodriquez is almost in the Nick Saban category of scumbags. This disloyal guy tells Pryor that he is leaving WV before his own team. ARE U KIDDING ME? AND HE DIDN'T EVEN GET PRYOR, lol.

Second, its not all about Pryor not coming to Michigan. Rodriguez simply cannot implement an effective spread offense that quickly with the players currently at Michigan, especially by week 2.

It seems like ND is finally recruiting some studs on the defensive side of the ball with speed. They should be able to match up better with the good offensive teams, which Michigan won't be, at least early in the season.

Finally, it all comes down to the offensive line for Notre Dame this year. I am a die-hard fan, and I had to turn the games at some points last year becuase their o-line was the worst I have ever seen at ND, which prides itself on dominating up front. I think Sam Young will solidify the line this season and actually give Claussen more than 1 second to get rid of the ball. The athletes are there on the offensive side, we just need the o-line to step up.

I agree with the fact that Michigan is done because they have no QB. But, as I was one to pick ND to go 9-3. How did that work out? Not so well. I am a faithful Irish fan but the best i cna see us doing this year is 7-5. I honestly hope I am wrong and that Jimmy Clausen will show me up. I am hoping we will do better. I am sorry that I havn't posted in a while. As always

If anyone is a tool, it is you.  So you have a little winning streak going on.  ND fans can talk trash because the IRISH have won National Championships and are a team that is always feared.  Who cares about 3-9.  It is a new season and ND is hungry.  The IRISH will be back on top while you panzy wolverines are going down!!!

GO I

I agree.  The wolverines talk way too much.  How about beating OSU? That's right Michigan can't.  So Michigan thinks they will destroy the IRISH this year.  Good luck!!!

The IRISH are much improved and are off to a great spring.  Claussen is going to have a great year and the Irish will win at least 9 games!!!

GO IRISH

Might not be "feared", but have been good enough to go .500 versus the mighty, mighty Wolverines the last 6 seasons.  Yep, when I think powerhouse, I think...not any of the Big Ten schools honestly.  Much like the economy, football has passed the Midwest by (including ND).

I find it funny that you would bring up "Beating OSU" as I recall a certain Fiesta Bowl a couple years ago your butts were handed to you and it wasnt even close at least when we play them the game is always close.

You know why we can talk cause we can back it up, Two consecutive thrashings on you one on your own turf and one in our backyard, I think that speaks for its self!

GO BLUE!! You better hope Jimmy can throw while he's on his back!

Maize yes UM beat ND the last two years.  But you seem to forget that ND also beat UM the two years before that.  So don't get your hopes up to much just because you have won the last two years.  That doesn't mean a thing.  This is going to be a new year.  Your team will be rebuilding.  Our team should have the kinks worked out.  As long as the offense can be productive and have good blocking on the o-line think that ND will take the game.  If the o-line doesn't make strides and they are as bad as last year and we can't move the ball then I think UM will have a chance at the win.

Our team should have the kinks worked out.

It looks like ND fans are already back in their collective "haze" regarding the product that they are putting on the football field.  I'm pretty sure that following last season this team has to do more than work out some "kinks".  LOL!

Your team was 3-9.  Your team was the victim of 7 blowout losses (including one to Air Force).  Your team lost to Navy for the worst time in nearly 5 decades.  Your team finished the year by eeking out a 7 point victory against a very bad Stanford team.  There was too much wrong with this team to be cured by a few adjustments.

The offensive line (including Sam Young) was one of the worst to ever suit up at a major university.  This led to your running game looking completely inept.  The defensive front seven were horrible and couldn't stop any running game.  We have no idea how good the secondary is because no decent team was forced to throw the ball against the Irish all year long.

Michigan may be "rebuilding" and implementing a new offense... but that new offense is based on running the football.  If the Irish couldn't stop Lloyd Carr's version of the running game, they will have at least as much trouble with Rich Rodriguez's version.  In my opinion, Michigan could not throw a single pass in this game and still score 24 points.  Do you ND folks realize how much worse Michigan's "D" would have to be this year to allow the Irish to score 20+ points?  Last year's game could have went 8 quarters and the Irish were still going to end the game with 0.  No chance Notre Dame wins this game.

Awesome insight Tennyskj ,5 stars man !

Not only this year is our running game more open but we have a backfield full of running backs to rotate and a few of those guys have blazing speed you're defense will get shredded. Airforce and Navy are mainly running teams and your defense was gutted. If we did open up the passing game on ND I doubt they'd be able to handle it because they were ran over so much their secondary is not tested, Mallett threw a couple touchdowns on them I believe.

Defensively we'll be better then we were last year so you really have no chance, I'll give you the benefit of a doubt this year that you are improved enough to score a touchdown but I'm sorry you will get torched and this will be a good confidence booster for the young guys playing. If we do in fact blow you guys out I wonder how long will Weis be under that extended contract.....

SeeingMaize, i have to say, your analysis is hilarious.
Not only this year is our running game more open but we have a backfield full of running backs to rotate and a few of those guys have blazing speed you're defense will get shredded.Your backfield will not be better than it was last year with Hart starting. Period. I didnt like hart, but he was good. If you think because some new guy ran a 4.2 off the field, he will step up and be great, you have another thing coming.
If we did open up the passing game on ND I doubt they'd be able to handle it because they were ran over so much their secondary is not testedSo ND's secondary wont do well because they arent "tested"(despite having a year or more of experience under their belts), but your backfield will do wonders because they are talented(but inexperienced). Right. Complete contradiction.
Mallett threw a couple touchdowns on them I believe.Something like 3 TDs and 77 yards if i remember right. But what does it matter, are we gonna play arkansas in a bowl game or something?
Defensively we'll be better then we were last year so you really have no chanceThats weird, teams get better during the off-season? How come ND wont?
