Memphis is a great team but theyre streaky. The 3s tend to fall in bunches or rim out in bunches. A cold  streak could be pretty devastating in the tournament, but a hot streak could equally devastate another team.

I dont think anyone doubts Memphis inside. However, Pitt should present a strong test in that department (if they meet - I have Pitt going down to Oral Roberts).

The free throws are a concern despite what Callipari says. Free throws mean a lot in the tournament and you can't let teams get back in games.

All that said, I have Memphis in the Final 4. Derrick Rose was just the star player they needed.

There really are a lot of Memphis hatere out there.  Like omegaff said, they will need to hit some three's and dominate the boards to go long way.  If they are on, they can beat anyone in the tourney.  Just cant have that  one bad game.

People hate what they fear.  And people fear Memphis because they don't really know what to expect out of a team that plays in a crappy conference, yet seems to be able to handle most any team that they have played out of conference for several years now.  Not many teams can say that they have had 30 or more wins for the last three years!  Go Tigers!

whether or not they can string together 5 (Round 1 doesn't count) consecutive games where they face teams as good or better than the 2nd best CUSA team.  Memphis' poor FT % will have major impact on 2 of the games. Will it cause them to lose or just a scare ? I don't know.

If Memphis meets up with Texas in Houston, I have serious doubts that the Tigers will be able to handle the atmosphere. It will, essentially, be a home game for Texas... and the Tigers coudln't remain cool while facing the UAB crowd.

Just like we couldn't handle the pressure in San Antonio last season vs. TAMU.

Just like the Tigers couldn't beat A&M last year in San Antonio?

Free throws matter in close games. And in the tournament, there will be close games. Sooner or later, it will bite them. My guess is sooner.

In my opinion, there seems to be one Memphis hater for every Memphis Homer out there. Homers breed Haters!
