There will always be debates as to seeding.   However, if we had beaten Purdue one time this year, there would be no debate as we would be a number 2 seed.  That's it.  Now, we need to focus on where we are.  It is a baby 4 team tourney right now and we need to prepare as such.  Worry about the other games later.  I remeber a few years back when Wisconsin was ranked approximately 14 in most polls and took a number 6 seed so really, we could have gotten hosed, especially with the Big Ten's RPI.  We still have to win five games against tough opponants, just like everyone else.  Be disappointed about the seed for two minutes and then get over it.  This is an exciting time of year and I am excited about our prospects.  Go Badgers!

It doesn't matter what seed your team is, Kansas is going to come out of the midwest and win the title this year.

Amen.  Even if we got a 2 seed, we'd stil have to beat 6 teams to win it all.  Enough with the complaining.  I'm fairly happy with our bracket and think we'll have an easier time than most think with either K-State or USC in the field of 32.

double amen. Plus i think we got into one of the easier brackets, i would much rather have a 3 in the midwest over a 2 in NC bracket.

The Midwest has to be one of the toughest to get out of alive.  first, there's the big Mayo vs. Beasley matchup.  then there is Villanova and Clemson, the winner of this game in my mind has the best shot at getting to the Sweet 16 and giving Kansas all they can handle.  Of course there are the two mid-majors Davidson and Gonzaga.  If there are any glass shoes this year, I'm putting them in Davidson.  Also, USC or Kansas St. will have a chance to make a Statement against the Badgers of Wisconsin.  there are plenty of possibilities that can happen that other regionals may not live up to.  I'm taking the winner of the Midwest to defeat the East winner and go to the National Championship game.

The seed is only important if you are a team from Carolina, and you get to play at home like Duke and UNC always seem to be able to do. For the rest of the world, that doesnt get handouts from the ncaa, the seed is largely irrelevant after the 1st round.

Bucky, Bucky, Bucky....Shut up and play. The 3 seed is no big deal. No respect? Here is your opportunity. Get to the Regionals and beat the 2 seed. Then you will get the respect that you think you deserve.

Look at the Big 10's "non-conference' RPI. It is either 6th or 7th (Jerry Palm feels the "non-conference" RPI is the best gauge of the strength of a league). At one time it was below the A-10 and may still be. Look at the so-called Big 10/ACC Challenge. The Big 10s record is dismal in the Challenge. Facts are facts. Win and you will get respect. Large fan bases, which most Big 10 schools, like Wisconsin, do not translate into respect by others, either in basketball or football, only WINS do.

Advance beyond your seed (as well as tsome of the other Big 10 schools) and you will earn respect.

Fact update to my previous post:

The Big 10s nonconference RPI is 8th! They are behind both the A-10 and the Missouri Valley. Look, I like the Big 10, have nothing against Wisconsin, but PLEASE get some sanity here. Wisconsin's league schedule has been much easier than most of the teams (of course, not Memphis) that are ahead of them in the seeding. That is just a fact.

Only team that can beat KU this year is if they beat themselves, lets just hope that doesnt happen

I tend to agree Kansas, if they play like they SHOULD, will win this region.
They are their own worst enemy.
Wisconsin has the potential too, very disciplined and well coached.
Not sure they have the athleticism or speed to beat some of the more athletic teams.
Of course if they can grind them into their style of play it may be a different story.
Tempo is a BIG deal!

Wisconsin has the number one scoring defense in the NCAA.  They beat Texas at Austin, and their only two conference losses to Purdue were lost at the last minute with bad calls (recall in the game at Purdue, Flowers being knocked to the floor as he shot with time expiring, with no whistle).  They will face Kansas in the Elite 8 and they will win if they control the tempo.

Any Big Ten Team should consider themselves lucky just to make the tournament.  Is had significantly gone down hill and is a very boring brand of basketball.

OK so the Big Ten style of Basketball is boring. I believe the BT style is winning! Enough about seeding. The Badgers will handle K-State. The A-10 is not a better conference than the Big Ten. I don't care how many rpi top 50 or 100 teams you play, you still need to win some of those games.

Are you kidding? And, what history do you have to go on?

Look, everyone knows that Bill Self is a great recruiter. He can talk a good game, but early exits on HIS resume will continue to haunt you.

Unlike the Nobody Busts Ass (NBA), college teams actually have to play together and hard to win games. If your talent can do that day in and day out, I think everyone around the country acknowledges the Jayhaws can do some serious damage, but that's a huge "but."

Good luck, but don't be surprised if your boys are shaking Wisconsin's hands with frowns on their faces.

OnWisconsin!

Watching a Wisconsin game is about as exciting as getting a root canal, but it seems to work great for you.  You've had a great season, and have all the chance in the world for a title.  One problem:  You have to win each game before that first.  It would be in your best interest to not look past KSU because if you do you're going home.  They can be a deadly defense with a high powered offense to boot.  You have a good D, but with Beasly on the floor you have to double him, and that leaves an open shooter somewhere.  Plan on adjusting your D alot.  And if you do get past us, you still have a stout G-town team to contend with.  You got a three seed in the toughest bracket top to bottom.  If you win out, good job.  If you lose, don't complain, just suck it up and go home.

What history?  12 final fours would be a good start, 4 elite eights and 2 final fours in the last 6 years isn't bad.  Bill Self took Tulsa to the elite eight, Tulsa.  He also has taken KU there twice and took Illinois there, I would bet he has a better tournament record than Wisconsin.

This team does play as a team, so did last years.  The play as a team and play hard thing is just ignorant.  This is a team with a lot of nba talent on it and yet no one averages more than 15 but 4 guys average over 12.  Nearly every talking head out there talks about our balance and the way we share the ball, that is teamwork.  We also happen to lead the country in defensive efficiency and those same talking heads love our defense. It's hard to do that if you don't play hard.

KU might lose, they might lose early, those things happen.  The NCAA tournament rarely crowns the best team, it crowns the team that can be better than their opponent on 6 consecutive opportunities.  It takes luck and talent, recent KU teams have had the talent but missed on the luck.
