Does Kentucky deserve this?

With their record standing at 18-12, at 12th ranked SOS, and an RPI currently hovering around 60, I ask does Kentucky deserve to be in this tournament.

With my blue colored glasses on, I'd say yes. With quality wins against Vanderbilt (a 4 seed) and Tennessee (a 2) their presence in the Field of 65 seems justified.

But looking from an outside, more objective perspective, I'd almost have to say no. Does their resume hold up against a team like UMass? In my estimation, no.

You won't hear or see me complaining about this, though. Heck, I think they have the talent to beat just about any team in here.

I just wonder what it looks like from someone (to use a Mike Vick term) without a dog in the fight.

	i think they do they had a lot of obstacles to over come and i think they are a lot better team then they were with tubby last yr.

	yes i think they deserved it.. They played their best ball of the season over the last 13 games. When patterson went down everyone stepped up and almost upset tennessee in knoxville.. now hopefully they can make a run through the tourny

	Katsfanforlife for life my ace! Shut up because UK deserved it! Seeing as it took me a whole minute of my time to translate that into something that made sense, It hardly warrants a response. But you seem to be confused. And it's my business to help. For starters, I am a Kentucky fan just as it appears you are. So telling me to "shut up" is kinda useless. Secondly, I never...no once...said Kentucky doesn't deserve to be playing. I simply said, looking at statistics that apparently determine the better team (RPI, SOS, Overall record) Kentucky doesn't stack up well with some of the teams that got snubbed. I used UMass as an example in my original post, so I'll use it again to help clarify: SOS RPI Record Key Wins Key Losses UMass 70 42 21-10 Dayton, Syr., Houston Fordham, IUPUI Kentucky 19 59 18-12 Vandy, Tenn., Ark Gardner-Webb, San Diego Pretty tough to call, huh? Not only did they get in by the hair on their chinny-chin-chins, but also the name on the front of their jersey. That, you can't deny.

	I'm a Duke fan but I will have to take Kentucky's side on this one. I hope that any team that has such a great conference record in a tough conference should be allowed to Dance. In this case i think kentucky ended up with like a 12-4 regular season record in the SEC. Im not sure if that is accurate but I think it is pretty close. Anyway Yes, they deserve to dance. Without Patrick Patterson I doubt they last long but they might fool me. We will see.

	the committee looks at more than numbers to determine if a team should be in KFFL. After watching the second half of the season i am suprised that you can question this team........

	i asked the same thing, being a uk fan i 90% think we deserve to be there.. im glad to see the duke fan agree about cats deserve it, most haters would say no just because it kentucky.. i thought the sec tourney was gonna be the thing to keep us out. it was a bad loss i thought and it shouldnt have been,... if you watched the whole game, you would know what im talking about. im just glad to be there... go cats~
