Dear DaJuan:

You don't know me. You'll probably never know me. My name is Ben, and I have watched you play at Georgetown for two years. You are a fabulous talent.

For the past two years, I have watched your game progress. You have developed as a crack three point shooter, and productive member of the Princeton Offense, with its complicated passing and backdoor cuts, and at times, a brilliant rebounder.

However, the time has come for you to take your game to another level. It is time for you to move beyond your physical talents and to use your head more. When Jeff Green was a sophomore, he was very similar to you in talent level. A tenacious defender who could take over a game, shoot well, and pass without peer, Jeff was considered to be a blooming talent. Many commentators have said similar things about you.

Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert blossomed during their Junior years at Georgetown. Both became much smarter players, and unquestioned leaders of the program. Yes, they had assistance from guys like Patrick Ewing Jr., Tyler Crawford and Jonathan Wallace, but both players have understood their physical skills, and in their junior years, both worked much harder on improving their cerebral skills. You must do the same.

The NCAA tournament coming up will set the foundation for your final two years at Georgetown. You played incredibly well last year, and had a number of amazing games throughout this regular season. The time has come for you to show that you will be the next marquee player in this program. I look forward to watching you in the tournament, and I have no doubt you will make all of your fans very proud. Thank you.
