I can't believe Geordan would jeopardize his future with the Warriors football team! What was he thinking...or rather he probably just wasn't thinking. Auwe!

He wasn't thinking like most 17 year olds. Probably won't affect his scholarship. Eggs don't equal sacks. Just a fact.

I sure hope this incident doesn't affect his scholarship, and I'm hoping he wasn't driving under the influence also. I'm all for 2nd chances and I know he'll learn and grow from this experience. However, no player (or recruit for this matter) is above the team. For the sake of self-worth and to gain respect from the team and the community, some kind of punishment is due and expected. This is something that should not be swept under the rug. Eggs equal vandalism; eggs don't equal integrity...facts.

Remember he is a 17 year old kid looking to have some fun, and that meant vandalizing something and someone. He is not the victim here but the perpetrator.
This incident can be a reflection of his true character. Does he accept blame and take the responsibilty and the punishment? Or does he claim his innocence and continue this destructive behavior?
Now we get to see what kind of a person he is before he takes the field. This is a good thing: if he cannot handle this adversity then he cannot handle college ball. How he reacts will define who he is. Already his playing days at St. Louis have been over, now we will get to see if his days at Hawai'i are over or about to begin.

I wouldn't think that trowing eggs is enough to take a young kids scholarship away. they shouldn't hell lots of kids do that when growing up.

OsoonerU#1...I'm pretty sure his scholarship won't be taken away. I'm curious to see what the outcome will be. This isn't the only egging incident...it's been going on for quite some time, and guess what...they finally got caught! I'm just glad no one got hurt in the process. Ever get hit with an egg? OUCH!!! Vandalism is vandalism and still a crime.

OsoonerU#1, it may or may not be enough to take it away. An investigation and a hearing may uncover that he is behind more, it is possible to do thousands worth of damage through vandalism over time or in a heartbeat. If there is a long history of destruction to property then he may lose his scholarship.
An interview by coach Mac and a review of each player involved will be forthcoming. Nothing is cut & dry, but the parents will pay. The parents always pay and in many ways.
Lots of kids get away with these things when they are growing up, this is different, this one got out of hand.

Glad you never got caught Osooner. I grew up in a small town and tight-knit community. We were taught never to be wasteful, so eggings were out of the question. Hey, that's breakfast, lunch and dinner, man! There was one instance where I did get caught...beating up on a bully. He took our football and refused to return it, so I had to do what I had to do. With a very stern look, my dad told me to never do it again, then as he turned and walked away, I could hear him chuckling. Yup, that guy ratted on me. Well, I never did it again, and that bully never bothered me again either. A happy ending for everyone...

LOL...nonbcsfan, believe me, my kid brother had his share of beatings from me. My dad was very wise...he'd whoop both of us cause he knew that li'l brother is an instigator (he was nicknamed Bad Boy). Nah, that guy was one of the town bullies and I shouldn't say he ratted on me. When he got home with a bloody nose, he was forced to tell. No doubt his dad was an unhappy camper indeed to find out that his son got beat up by a girl!

well i am sure that his dad wouldn't be proud if he found out that his son beat a girl up... so it was a no win situation for the lad...

You're right...it was a no-win situation for him. But it was a threefold win situation for me...
- I taught him a lesson
- I didn't get punished
- I got my football back!
As for being a linebacker...got rejected...vertically and horizontally challenged. Too short and too skinny. Now, in my ripe old age, I'm still the former, but not the latter...where the heck did I get all these lbs?!? LMAO Man! I gotta get off this computer and start exercising!

Hey RR, wasn't there a girl kicker a few years ago on the Red Raider varsity team? I think I recall but never saw her play. This was around the mid 90's I think, around the same time my little bro played for.......St Louis! lol Those times were funny, my brother playing for St Louis and my wife from Kahuku.

Hi...dave. Yeah, I remember the girl kicker. I thought it was in early 2000...not sure. I think I saw her play just one time...way cool! Hey, my husband is a St. Louis alum. He was not too happy about the egging incident. We had a blast when St. Louis and Kahuku battled at the Prep Bowl...of course I have bragging rights. My kids would get a big kick out of it. When I wanted to give him a "good game" hug, he'd push me away and say, "Get away from me!" Sore loser. Let's see if they can go at it again.

Hey kanaka...that's a great idea! Get this though...every Christmas, I'd wrap his gifts in blue and red. The years that we won the championship, I wrapped them in red and white. You should have seen his face! We had a class reunion last October and I was in charge of making all the name badges. I made all of the Kahuku alums with the Red Raiders indian logo. When he saw it, he asked me...no, he begged me to put the Fighting Crusader on his. I did and boy did he get some flak from my classmates! All in fun though. When we left, they all asked me to please take care of my husband...after all, poor thing...he's from St. Louis...LOL. He's such a character...I think I'll keep him for a while.

St Louis took care of the situation. RR67 sorry you have to put up with that ILH "upper crust" good thing you get along.
This is not cut and dry, da boys can still lose it all. Their names were in the papers now their names are taken out, we know who they are. UH has higher standards than St Louis & the ILH, at least when I was there.
The good thing is they got their medicine right away and swallowed it. &nb | |
