I hate to say it, but mcfadden is going to slip in the draft....I am afraid that team needs will keep some of the top teams from picking him. And this would REALLY suck!
Well, while I agree that he'll go to a mediocre team, I disagree with your logic. He's going to be a top 5 draft pick, which means that he'll be going to a poor team. These mediocre teams don't have salary cap issues, which means they can afford to dish out millions of dollars on an untested prospect. Either that or a crappy team will trade their first draft pick (McFadden) for another team's draft options. Hopefully they do this with Dallas.
My bet is that he won't slip at all. His talent on the field will overshadow his off-field "antics," and sadly this means he'll get snatched by a terrible team. Frankly I think he might fit in with the Raiders, and I think they're probably the best team in the bottom 5 NFL teams.
Just like teams passing on AP last year, several teams are going to regret passing on DMAC. The Raiders may take him at #4, but I'm not sure if they can afford him. They spent a bundle on JaMarcus Russell last year and then they sank $110 million into signing 3 players last week. I'm not sure what their cap situation looks like, but putting another $30M into a single player may be a stretch. Also, they desparately need a DT now that Sapp retired. I think they will either trade their pick or draft a DT (Dorsey or Ellis) and DMAC will fall to the Jets at #6. The Jets would be getting a gift. However...
YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST -- Look for the Cowboys to do some serious talking with the Raiders. I predict the Cowboys will put together a package of picks, players, and/or cash for the #4 pick and they will draft DMAC. Not sure what it will cost, but it will be less than a trade with Miami would be. Maybe both 1st round picks and something else -- a 2nd round pick next year?, a player?, cash?... The Raiders will get more value for their later picks and the Cowboys will get the franchise RB they want.
I think that Dmac is even too expensive for Dallas. They have some high profile players already, and I think it would benefit them more to keep their current draft options. I think they're in too good of a position at this point to risk so much on an untested rookie runningback. I understand that Jerry is a Razorback, but he's a businessman, and if I were him, I wouldn't trade my picks for Darren.
thats a good thing hes more than likely going to slip to my Pats!!!! and if they draft him thats great for me bein an arkansas and new england fan! and if they don't they will more than likely trade their pick and who wants mcfadden??? none other than jerry jones! meaning mcfadden will be going to an excellent team and have a great chance with marion barber at a great rookie season!
I can't see Dmac sliding out of the top 5. If none of those first five want him, I think there will a trade up to get him. Jerry Jones is being quiet, which is strange. I don't know if he is really after Darren or not. I know he wants him, but will he do what it takes to get him. Plus there is talk now if Pac Man gets back in the league they may go after him. Which I hope they don't. That man is a disaster waiting to happen, AGAIN!.
Miami Dolphins: They need help everywhere except RB...They will stick with Ronnie Brown and probably draft-Sedrick Ellis-DT
St. Louis Rams: They need help on the offensive line specifically..Steve Jackson is an excellant RB will probably draft-Jake Long-OT
Atlanta Falcons: Have signed Michael Turner which gives them latitude to wait until the 2nd round and get a RB in this deep draft will probably draft-Chris Long DE or Matt Ryan QB
Oakland Raiders: Chris Long if available, Dorsey, or McFadden
Kansas City Chiefs: Already have Larry Johnson will probably address OL with Ryan Clady or Chris Williams (Glen Dorsey DT Outside shot)
New York Jets: McFadden or Dorsey
So, I don't see McFadden going below sixth to the NY Jets.
ok "LoveThemHawgs" The jets r not going to adress the running back situation with the 6th pick! they r going to go after vernon Gholston! they need more help on defense! this class is deep in running back and they think that Jones is their premier back they are just looking for a back that can complement Jones and this class is deep in running backs they can get a good one anytime! The raiders are predicted to pick mcfadden in all the mock drafts but they just signed two running backs they really do not need Mcfadden! they need help on Defense! The Chiefs are rebuilding the line! as I have already said Jets are going after Gholston.....so that leaves The patriots with the next pick and they really don't need it! this class is also deep in Cornerbacks with all of them as good as the other! Aqib Talib, Leodis Mckelvin, Antoine Cason, and others! this would be where Jerry Jones pounces! he has two first round picks! he can give the pats one and probly a second rounder and he'll have Mcfadden and then another pick in the first round! and the Cowboys need a second running back after releasing Julius Jones! Marion Barber and Mcfadden! could you Imagine how great they would be? I mean I'm a huge patriots fan and it scares me to think about the two together! My pats can't stop the run and they will have no chance in hell of stopping those two! This season when we played Dallas I was wishing that Julius Jones got the ball every play! cause he wasn't very good to me...with him gone and D-Mac in there that offense is loaded and next to impossible to stop!
