Samuel Peter is Nigerian not American. There is no American Heavyweight that is even a contender.

I don't mean to steal your thunder but Peters is Nigerian, he does live and train here in the states but not really American. But I do concur, I would like to see more Americans holding belts in the heavyweight division.

Although I have to say I do like Wladimir Klitscko, not American but that dude is pretty good, with the exception of his last fight.

Maskaev lives in Sacramento. I think Peter's trains in FLA. So the title pretty much remains in American hands.

It doesn't matter where they train. It matters what citizenship they have and where they were born. If they were allowed to compete in the Olympics, neither one would be for the US.

Peter looked slow in that fight. What gave Peter a big advantage is that Oleg was even slower. The fight went about how I thought it would go. Oleg dosn't have a good chin and Sam can punch. At 250lbs is too much weight for Sam. If he fights that high, he is going to get beat soon. He looked slow, and that wont save him vs some of the better fighters in the division.

Dude, Maskaev is a naturalized U.S. citizen who lives in Long Island. It was  a good fight though, and the best fighter won. Hopefully Maskaev can get back into shape, but if not, he's had a pretty good career.
