Catfan, I don't think the MWC would have much problem with that. BSU was in consideration 3 years ago when we added TCU. I don't see that as being a huge roadblock.
Eagles, I think the BCS conferences have already relegated themselves to this. They have adjusted the rules in the past 3 years to allow for more access already. The adjusted rules allowed BSU and Hawaii to get in. 5 years ago, BSU and Hawaii would not have gotten in to BCS games the way the old system worked. Utah got in only becuase they were ranked in the top 6 of the BCS standings. If the same rules that apply today for entry, applied since the beginning of the Bowl Coaltion/BCS in 1996, the following teams would have been in: 1996- BYU 1997- Tulane 1998- Marshall 1999- Colorado State 2000- Nobody 2001- BYU 2002- Colorado State 2003- Nobody 2004- Utah 2005- TCU 2006- BSU 2007- Hawaii
So, under the new rules only teice would non-BCS teams not have qualified a team for a BCS game. The great thing about making our conference stronger is that even without an automatic bid, we would most likely qualify a team for a BCS game even with 1 or maybe 2 losses.
