The hands down worst commentators in the history of sports are....
Bob Errie and Paul Steigerwald, FSN Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Penguins. While Paul Steigerwald isn't too bad by himself, calling the actual commentary of the game, Bob Errie is the worst color commentary guy on the planet. He says some of the most rediculous things that I have ever heard in my entire life. At least once every night he uses the phrase "fortuitous bounce"
Horrible.

My favorite is Bob Uecker for the Brewers with all of the bad teams the Brewers have had he can still make the broadcasts so enjoyable. Plus who didn't like him in Major League or Mr. Belevdere.
As for football I liked Larry Mccarren & Max Mcgee especially durring the Brett Favre era. They made games exciting when I had to listen on the radio
The worst I would have to say Jerry Glanville & Dan Dierdorf I can't stand anything they say

Bob Uecker is easily the best local radio broadcaster. "Get up, get up, get outta here, gone!"

And he also replaced the great voice of John facenda as the voice of NFL films.
The voice of God.........and NFL films, John Facenda, had the most distinct announcing voice ever. Hearing his voice on those films today brings me back to when I was a kid watching "This Is The NFL" every Saturday. Only Yankee PA announcer Bob Shephard's voice comes close to being that distinctive.

Keith Jackson is the all-time greatest broadcaster regardless of sport. If Skip Bayless is any worse as a broadcaster then he is on "Cold Pizza" he would be the worst. Pat Summerall is a great one who unfortunately stayed too long. Did you catch him during the Cotton Bowl? I felt sorry for him he was so bad.

MNF is AWFUL, Ron Jaworski is the only one who knows anything about the NFL, Tirico is mediocre at best and Kornheiser is only entertaining when he imitates the inimitable Howard Cosell. As a whole, they're the worst announcing team in football. Real fans despise Tim McCarver, but remember not everyone who watches the "Big Games" like playoffs and World Series are more than casual/curious fans. He does inform these people with what seem to be obvious observations. Jack Buck and Buck Martinez are very good baseball announcers. Dick Vitale and Billy Packer are great on college basketball, even if Dukie V loves the Blue Devils beyond any reasonable limit. Keith Jackson was undoubtedly the best ever college football announcer. Troy Aikman is a fine NFL voice and Paul Maguire is terrific also. Boomer Esiason is excellent, also.

I forgot Bob Uecker and John Madden. Ueck is hilarious and makes the dullest contest enjoyable. Yeah, Madden is practically a cartoon now, but he and Pat Summerall were a fantastic team, bringing everything and more out of every broadcast. For the old timers, who could top Mel Allen? Myron Cope was great on Pittsburgh games. If you get a chance, listen to the late Chuck Thompson describe the '58 NFL Championship game, the famous overtime Greatest Game Ever Played. Vin Scully is a legend and rightly so. Jon Miller and Joe Morgan are great together, Jon describes the action like no one else, and Joe gives an honest appraisal of everything and anything.

Uecker gets props for the announcing he did in "Major League". He was the funniest thing in a funny movie.

Loved Summerall and Madden, Merlyn Olsen and Dick Enberg were great as well. Currently I am a fan of Nantz and Simms especially Nance who is great at whatever he does. I like Buck and Aikman, but not a fan of Bucks attitude at times like when he went off on Moss when he pretended to 'moon' the fans at Lambeau. I thought he could have lightened up a bit on that. I am not a big fan of the MNF crew, do not like kornheiser's angle. Actually liked Macquire more then Theisman or any of the current guys. Also you gotta love Al 'Do you believe in Miracles?' Micheals. He has been a staple in a lot of different sports for a long time. Bermans good too.
