Gary, why do you even bother to put the 13-16 seeds when it's obvious you put no thought whatsoever into them? You have had Robert Morris in the play-in game for over a month now. Robert Morris is 25-6. That is not play-in game material, that is likely #14 seed material. I don't care at all about Robert Morris, never have. But anyone who has paid attention to the Northeast Conference at all knows that if its champion is Robert Morris, the Colonials will be in a much more desirable situation than the play-in game. You are better than that, Gary, either put some thought into all the seed lines or just quit when you run out of at-larges.

They still shouldn't be seeded 16th.

He also has UNC-Asheville as a 16.  I'd love to see 7-foot-7 Kenny George go for 25 points, 15 boards, and 5 blocks against a #1 seed in the tourney, and give them a good scare.

Give Bobby Mo some love! They won at BC. The league isn't that good, I admit, but c'mon 14-15 would be more appropriate. Play In or 16th? Wanna bet on that?

I'm with you, Skyhawk.  He's also got Winthrop as a #16 seed.  This is the 8th year out of the last ten that they've made the tourney; that experience/success has got to warrant a higher seed than 16.  I think Lunardi on ESPN.com does a more thorough/accurate job of predicting the tournament.  As of March 7, he has Robert Morris as a #14.

I'm from the Pittsburgh area about 3 miles from Robert Morris and just to let you know they are NIT bound. Only 1 team from the NEC will make the NCAA tourney. That will be the conference tourney winner

Obviously. I posted that before they blew it against Mount St. Mary's. Now the NEC champ might really be a 16 seed.

But Winthrop as a 16? I'm starting to wonder if Gary just pulls the last 17 names out of a hat. Either that or him being drunk at the end are the only explanations I can come up with.

Because Winthrop isn't as good as they had been in the past. What they did the last few years doesn't equate to how they're seeded in a tournament. Valpariso had been in several tournaments before the 2000 tournament including the sweet 16 in 98 but were still seeded 16th in the 2000 tournament where they lost to Michigan state and were a 15 in 99 where they lost to Maryland. You don't judge based on past history you go by quality of the team and Winthrop isn't as good as they were the last few years and yes I have watched them play.

I've seen them a few times this year as well, and thought they looked just as competitive as some of their teams from the recent past.  Obviously, the committee agreed with me, as they just rewarded the Eagles with a 13 seed.  Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they upset another overrated team from the Pac 10.
