Ex Marine,

Let me sum up my feelings on this subject.  Served during Dessert Storm.  I love my country and support my President.  He is my President and so was Clinton and so was Bush, Sr.  I did not vote for all these men but I serve my Commander in Chief.  I don't agree with everything that goes on in the political arena but I served proudly under them.
Politics has no place in the field of battle but it enters in none the less.  I greatly desire a leader that will leave the fighting of wars to the military brass and let us fight.  We are a military based on offensive and defensive posture not a police force.  Let the Generals, Commanders, and Admirals set objectives and give them the free reign to meet those objectives.  Once they have been met, leave this region and go back to monitoring. Quit worrying about our reputation around the globe.  Take care of business and get our troops back home.

Those who think they understand what is going in the Middle East by watching the news in America are sheep being led to the slaughter.  This is one of the most vile regions on earth and the vast majority of Americans could not stomach what really has transpired in that region.  If we continue to be brainwashed by the mainstream media, we will be ruled by a savage society and all the freedoms that we currently enjoy will be lost.  The subsequent religious cleansing of all Christians will make the holocaust look mild.

I want this country to wake up and use some common sense!  We need leadership in the worst way but the best individuals will not run for office.  Who would want to put their families through the political gauntlet.

I support the troops, the President, the Senate and Congress.  I will continually pray for each.

Reading the posts here has really helped my resolve I thank you all for your posts.  Like I said before it just gets really frustrating listening to people tell me how we should fight the war and they never having served.  I really needed to hear from you all.  Thank You.

I was in the USAF,back in the 60s. I will always support the guys and gals in uniform. Way back during the American Revolution, historians claim that about 1/3 of the colonist supported the revolution, 1/3 was neutral and 1/3 favored Great Britain. The honorable way is often taken by the minority. Today, America's best. is doing their duty, with honor.  Most Americans are very aware of that , more than you may think!!

Although I've never served overseas, I support the brave men and women overseas.  Been an army brat most of my life (18 years of it)  and have continually tried to help in any way that I could through community service.
It truly does amaze me how many left-wingers do NOT understand the concept of service, honor, and loyalty to one's nation as I have many friends, both enlisted and officer who serve simply because they love this great nation.
It angers me to no avail /sickens me whenever I hear about code pink/WBC (Westboro Cult) people protesting events for our troops.  Fallen or new to serve, they are all heroes in my eyes.  WBC showed up to MY TOWN to protest the funeral of a close fallen friend, and I will say that I have never seen more red, white, and blue in my entire life.  It was almost bittersweet to say the least, with the outpouring of an entire town to show respect.  God bless the Patriot Guard Riders as well b/c everyone can do their part!

THANK YOU ALL!  Everyone who does their part and contributes in anyway possible, thank you.

I served in the Army for 7 years '88-'95. I try to support being in Iraq, I just wish more would have been done in Afghanistan first. Like turning it into a parking lot to find Bin first, then concentrating on Iraq. God bless and THANK YOU to everyone who has served or is serving right now!

I think most who go around not supporting this war has never been in the military for certain ..I (like thousands of  others) am a vet ..I was fortunate not be involved in any conflict 30 years ago ,,but I do know what it means to be young and away from home and the ones you love...It is very important to have the FULL support of the your country and supporting troops and the war go hand in hand ..as far as the basic solider sees it. I was like the majority of guys in uniform ..just a "no name" private more or less not some big West Point grad or high raniking offier..not a fly boy ..just a wrench turner..but it is important to everyone ...most of the faceless soliders we never hear about are people as well.....If some of these "do gooders" out here had a job or something contructive to do with their time they would not have time to go around and ruin funerals or shoot their mouths off about nothing they understand with the protests ....just my 2 cents worth here.
