Sometimes the things we don't know, would never know, are the very things we all should know.

Parents wonder if they can trust the man in whose hands they are placing their son's lives, and despite the "couch promises" and the declarations of concern over the dinner table, there is still a shred of doubt.

This column shines a light on, at least, these coaches, and their true natures.  I'm sure a lot of parents connected with these programs feel a little better about their choices.

For that, take the line....consider it a gift ;-)

Thanks for the glimpse of humanity. It is exceedingly more rare when we are bombarded by the trash media everywhere, everyday. These coaches are the truest definition of that word...they coach more than sports.. they coach life.

Its not so easy to hate or despise when we see that humanity brought forth. The most interesting thing? None do it for any reason other than compassion.

You are the man.  Your literary range is enormous.  Enough about you, the coaches are just good people.  They aren't like the young punks who go on to fat paychecks and required community service.  Billy is a great man first and foremost, and then he is coach.  I'm happy someone acknowleged the happiness that comes into the coaches lives when they are able to help those in actual need, not those with a peanut brain and out of this world athletic ability.  Good luck and God bless to all.

I'll read stuff like this every day.  Keep these coming over the stories of cheaters, quitters, needle tracked / lying pitchers. 

This is an example of the character and positive qualities drawn from sports that we need to hear more about.
