San Jose trades D Rob Davison to the New York Islanders for a seventh-round pick in 2008.

From what little info is out there about this guy he's big and can skate but can't put the puck in the net to save his life (2-12-14 in 176 games over 4 seasons).  Probably just a hole filler as the injuries to Sutton, Campoli, and Witt have got them very thin on the blue line.

As long as he is a good defender, it is a good deal for a 7th round pick just so they have some size (6'3" 230).

Davison is a decent defenseman at best, but he is good to wear down the opposing line.  He hasn't had much playing time in San Jose, so the Islanders will have the opportunity to see what he's all about.  I don't know the islander's defensemen that well so I cant tell who he will be competing with for ice time, but I don't think he'll hurt your team.
