I was thinking about a few things I would like to see change with the Bulldog Football team. What do you think? What would you change?
1. Replace the last names on the backs of players jersey's.
2. Change the "bones" on the backs of players helmets to mini-state of california outlines.
3. Figure out whether our "new logo" is going to remain all white on the players helmet's or filled-in with some color.
4. Change the student section to a more noticable and intimidating location along the visitors section so it can be seen and heard on T.V. during home games.
Just a few changes I'd like to see for next year. Oh, I almost forgot--what's up with our new mascott. He looks scared!!! Tell me what you think?

All good. My thing I would like to see changed is a little better quality on the BSN. Wood does a great job but some things run a little slow. I say get some students on there. But something is better than nothing, though. And ESPN this year? We're camera ready!

We have a new logo? I haven't seen it.
One thing I'd like to see is more blue in the uniforms. I am so tired of the red on red at home games. I use to love it when they'd bust out the blue pant, white jersey and red helmets. That set up looks so cool.
I wouldn't change the bones. They too look cool.
I would like them to put beer back in the stadium, but that won't happen.

The student section won't be moved. It used to be behind the visitor's bench, but our students are stupid and embarrassing. Last year against Boise State they started chanting "f--- Boise" before the game started. I was sitting right by a family from Idaho, and it was an awful feeling to have our fans doing that when they'd made a trip out west with their kids for the game. The student section is a complete black eye for our home games. They belong in the corner where they won't be seen.
However, if the university made clear expectations to the students and removed aggressively enforced those expectations, then I'd change my minds. But as it is, our students come drunk, are crass, and typically leave before the game is even over. Why would we want that highlighted for national television?

I disagree with adding beer back to the stadium. Like it was mentioned before, our student section is rediculous and insulting. The students are so rude already that they don't need alcohol helping them.
I would enforce better sportsmanship from the entire crowd. I'm tired of drunks behind me yelling the F word like it's the only one they know, thats why I don't take my kids. The basketball crowd is much better.
I do agree with putting more blue in the uniforms.
The new mascot is terrible. I like the idea of him being tuffer but with the spikes on and the way he looks I would almost think he wants to mate with the Georgia Bulldog.

For the record I am 41 and an FSU grad. I have two daughters that are 8 and 4. When I am at the game I like to have a beer or two. I can't afford more than that. I also agree that there is a portion of the crowd that drinks too much and uses way too much profanity. Look, they are somewhat controlling the alcohol use in the stadium. I say somewhat because I've still seen fans inside with it. They need to start doing something about the people that have had too much to drink outside the stadium and then bring more into the stadium. The school needs to have some sort of no tolerance policy put into place. Something can be done, if they truly want to do so.

One change I'd like to see is 4 more wins and the Dogs at the top of the WAC standings at season's end.

first to six,
I would agree with you on the alcohol sales ONLY if they had a no tollerance policy on the idiots that abuse their privilage. Most of the fans are mature enough to handle the beer. It's the few who ruin it for everyone else. I wish I felt comfortable enough with the crowd to bring my two daughters. I take them to the basketball games and they love it.

I'd like to see more interceptions from our defense. The four we had last year really didn't do it for me:)

hoopsbum,
I usually only take my daughters to one game a season. That is all they can handle. I've got a good friend who'll give me 4 red seats on the west side when I take my girls. The crowd is a little better there, but only a little. You'll hear your share of profanity there as well.
I am all with you on the interceptions. It seems like a long time since we've had a defense that could create turnovers.

wow dennis, where's the love? The problem is these young kids don't know how to act during the games. First things first. Get them there. There has been more bulldog deals lately and I think the more frequently they go, the better they will act. Make it interactive. But ultimately, nothing is more exciting than a winning team. Fresno State should make it a point TO get the students there this year to show off how good the team will be to the students. They will get the hang of it the more often they attend. I'm expecting to see a lot of hub-bub about town during this year's games.

Just one final thing I'd like to see changed this year is that all players remain out of hand cuffs and stop beating up on the ladies. I also hope they can control their drinking.

That's the same change I'm hoping for. This is our year to win the WAC outright.

OK it almost sounds like many people here dont even want students at the games at all but lets be real, students are the reason there is a college here and football team to watch.
"students are stupid and embarrassing. Last year against Boise State they started chanting "f--- Boise" Any time you get rivals together its going to be crazy, you dont think our players and fans get razzed when we go to away games? have you gone to a FS game outside of Fresno? Ever been to a rivalry of any other sport? I yearly go to Giants V. Dodgers games in both cities and in LA we yell at giants fans all night and in SF we hear it all night so its not just students that are "stupid and embarrassing" its that when you go into you rivals house you are gonna get vebaly abbused all night and fans and players should know that. F you was definately not the worst thing Barry heard in LA last year so atleast we wernt sending the Boise fans death threats. I mean its not like we are chanting "F you Utah state" things just get crazy at rivalry games thats all there is to it.
But when it comes to beer at the game, taking it out was the absolute dumbest thing they have ever done and they are begining to realize it. I have seen articles in the Fresno Bee, the school newspaper, and beeing a current student now and when beer was sold I have seen it first hand that students are worse now then when beer was sold. the reason being is that like dennis said students do come drunk and they dont just come drunk, they come drunk enough to stay drunk through the durration of a 3 hour game which meens having about 5-10 drinks before the game. The student section is about twice as bad now because insted of coming in after having 2-3 drinks and keeping a buzz going through the game by dinking a beer or two because like someone above said they are/were too expensive expecisaily for students so they, myself included come so drunk that yea things tend to get a little roudy. So what they were trying to avoid(students getting to drunk) has backfired and they are losing tons of money from the 1,000's of people who were willing to pay $8 a beer.
And hoops and dennis and all you others who think that the students of this university are "rediculous and insulting", "so rude", "drunks", "stupid and embarrassing", and immature, and so on and so on, you are probably right but guess what ITS COLLEGE!!! its our last chance to act like this before we have to grow up and face the world, and do you really think we are the only set of college studends that act like this? Ive got two words for you guys, ca mon. antother thing is when I go out to parties around the school there are tons of players there so think about it when you guys are cheering for the players and being discusted at the fans, just because they wear the jerseys on saturdays dosent make them any better than the rest of the students here, if they werent playing they would be up in the crowd with the rest of us.
BTW next year they are enforcing a $25 ticket for those caught bringing alcohal into the game and I assume that would be accompanied by a minor in possion ticket for those under the age.

Bamfers,
I know we're all Dogs fans here, and we're not easily offended, but it sure looks like you were drunk when you posted all that.
Nobody is against having students attend the games to watch their team, but people are against anyone who infringes on someone else's ability to enjoy the game as well. You don't have to lube yourself up with 5-10 drinks to have a good time cheering for your team. Why not just have a couple and then be able to remember what transpired?
You are "facing the world" when you attend games at the stadium, so using the excuse that these games are some of the last times you can get drunk and act foolish in public doesn't ring true.
Let's all continue to cheer for our Dogs and also respect other fans who may not wish to get wasted before games since they have the responsibility of driving home rather than stumbling home.
