it's all quite simple durban, boise st fans are starting to realise that they won't be winning bcs bowls every single year and that football fans outside the state of idaho will soon forget (unless already forgotten) that magic win and marriage proposal and all the drama of the 2006 fiesta bowl... now the "bcs buster" boise st lost it's only game against a bcs team that finished 4-9 this year, failed to win the wac, and will probably lose it's only game against a bcs team (oregon) next year. so to make themselves feel better, some bsu fans like to run their mouths about the mwc tv deal, they try to discredit byu's 1984 title, and make asinine allegations that bsu has accomplished more than byu as a mid major... it's okay though, i guess when the magic dust clears, football reality is not as glorious as the fantasy land in which they reside...
byu has been in mid majors long enough for their fans to have confidence in the team and assess its potential objectively without having to discredit other teams. byu fans saw the team dominate mid majors on pretty much annual basis for many years, go through a few rough years (crowton years) and recover to once again reestablish itself as one of the topnotch mid majors. simply put, byu fans are not insecure about their team's accomplishments and potential. with time, boise st fans will hopefully act in the same manner as their team will continue to mature in the 1a division.
