Rule # 1

Pitching / pitching and more pitching

Rule # 2

Never draft a 2nd baseman not named Utley until the mid rd's.

Rule # 3

Never draft a Catcher until the late rd's. I dont care what his name is!

Rule # 4

Pitching / pitching / pitching. Make shure that you take at least 4 pitchers in the first 9 rd's! You shouldnt have more than 2 reserve batters at anytime.

Flow,
Scott's advice on tiers was good stuff, but for H2H your advice is even better! I wonder how many players will take note and learn from it?
If I have one good piece of advice it's to learn from the winners. I've been playing in CBS, (and other ), leagues for about 8 years, and I learn something new every season.

So SlickMic, I guess by reading your comment on learning from winners that you have never won in those 8 years?

That would seriously downgrade that piece of advise.................

I concur on all 4 rules.  But I have one minor correction to rule #4:  at least 4 GOOD pitchers.  no point if they're crappy.

I'd change rule number 3 to never draft a catcher until the late rounds...unless his name is Martinez.

Dude, your ASSumption here is totally lame.

For starters I play 3-4 Fantasy Gold H2H baseball teams each year, and NO I don't win every league every year. Last season I played 3 and won 3, and 2006 was the only time on CBS that I didn't win at least one. Note that I didn't say I learn from "league champions".  I said I learn from "winners", and the best players DO NOT always win it all since there is a very big luck factor in weekly contests! You can also check the owners in each league, (who do not block it), and see who have been the most successful in years past!
Only fools think they know it all and stop looking for new ways to succeed.
