So im sitting with my girlfriend teaching her how to play no limit hold em and after a nutshell explanation, she deals a heads up hand to practice with.  I have been playing for only 3 years (still a young guy) and never have had a royal flush.  First hand she deals to me is KQ hearts, and needless to say the flop brings the A and J hearts, with the turn the 10 of hearts.  Not once have i ever gotten a royal flush and the first time i ever did was from a hand my girlfriend dealt to me; the first hand of poker she ever participated in! Just wondering how many of you out there have gotten a royal flush, live or online?

I ALMOST HAD ONE

There was a raise in early position  and then a resaise all -in ,in late position ,,,, two very strong players ,,im in the big blind with A-10 of spades ,,  ,, i figured these guys are very strong with there hands so folded it and let them do battle. So they flip up there cards , and the guy in early position had QdQh and dude in late position had AcAd,,, the flop comes KsQs6d ,, im shaking my head at this point cause i new it was a calll i should have made for about 4500 more,,   and the  turn comes the J spades ,, i then grabbed my foldd cards turned them up then walked outside for a smoke lol ,,.,,...,,., it was a live tournement too ,,,

I have had a couple of straight flushes, but never royal.  I was at a table a couple of weeks ago where a guy flopped a straight flush.  Two hands later he flopped quad queens.  Gave back all the winnings over the course of the next couple hours though.  I don't think he folded another hand for an hour.  LOL

I have one to my credit and I saw one over the weekend in a tournament.  Both were in hold'em.  I heard a commercial recently that says the odds of being dealt a royal in your first 5 cards is about 265,000 to 1.

I got one in our monthly home game, about 2 years ago.  Dealt the KcQc, and the flop saw Ac, 10d, 5c, making me four to the flush.  On the turn was the 10c, giving me the nut flush.  Person immediate to my right went all in, since he was holding 10d5d and therefore had a full house.  I called without thinking it thru, and on showdown saw I was beat.  I said "the only thing that saves me is the jack of clubs."  It got a laugh, because of course that would have made a royal flush.  And it hit on the river.

So I got my royal flush with runner-runner!
