I never said you could control who you play in conference, but you sure as heck can control who you play out of it. It's not rocket science to see the ACC sucks at the moment. There is seriously nobody on the Clemson schedule that anybody would put money on being in the Top 25 come season's end. And, yes I realize that's a dig at my own school, but such is life at the moment.
There are two top tens, two more for sure top 25's, and two more possible top 25's on our schedule. Such a schedule would give a team the right to schedule whomever the heck they want out of conference. You don't have that schedule. Y'all's schedule sucks, and to compensate you went out and bribed not one but two FCS schools just to make sure you could pad the win column. That's not the type of program I could ever be proud of.

great research you have done we didnt not control who we played... in order to play alabama we had to pick up the FCS school because there wasn't any team in the country that had an open date and an extra game to schedule so we had to take them.

That's bs pure and simple. What you meant to say is, "There wasn't an FBS school willing to just give us home-home games." You already had seven home games, but no, you guys needed eight home games. And not just eight home games, but eight home games that you're 99% confident Byrnes could win.
I've done the research. There were FBS schools available as late as two months ago. I guess we'll just have to start calling you guys the Rainbow Warriors.

hes right its about so much more than just getting a tough opponent. you have to pay patsies to come to make revenue off of the home games. when the football profits pay for most of the athletic dept budget it is necessary to have extra home games. schools from bcs conferences are not going to come unless you agree to give a home and home series.

If Clemson play in the SEC, they will be struggle to win. If u put South Carolina in the SEC West it will be a 3 team race(LSU,Alabma,South Carolina). Because they play in the east it 4 possible 5 good teams and more harder. What I think every year South Carolina Schedule their toughest game at the end. I say bring Florida and Tennessee somewhere in the middle of the schedule. They find themselves battle every year at the bottom of the schedule. I think they need to change that if they want to compete for a SEC title.

You don't need 8 freakin' home games to balance your athletic budget. Well, let me re-phrase that. If you need 8 freakin' home games to balance your athletic budget, then you need a better alumni association.
It obviously isn't about the competition at Clemson, because they obviously didn't bother to schedule anybody OOC. And don't try to tell me you scheduled two SEC teams. You don't have a choice but to play us every year. So we don't count. Besides, you believe we suck anyway. And Alabama? It's been over a decade since their last good season.
You didn't even bother to schedule a good non-BCS team, and there were plenty of those available. Stop defending your schedule. Your AD did you absolutely no favors. When it's late in the season and you're still undefeated (and how could you not be with that schedule?), you guys are going to take a whole ton of ridicule from the national media when they start highlighting the fact that you padded your win column with not one, but two FCS teams (in addition to already having a schedule full of ACC doormats). How quick you forget all the ridicule Florida received for playing their one patsy on their national title schedule.

It's allowable because we have a good in conference schedule. Sheesh, man, read something before responding. It's not like I haven't laid it out three or four times now between here and the Clemson board.
True, five years ago it would've been hard to predict just how awful the ACC is at the moment. But you didn't shore up your OOC five years ago. You finished it last year knowing full well what your ACC slate was going to be.
You guys have the potential to play twelve games, with not a single one against a top 25 opponent. Yes, there could be a surprise team somewhere in that mix, but that would get you to one whole top 25 opponent. That's why you needed to be more aggressive than Carolina was when it came to scheduling OOC. But as it stands, your OOC is even weaker than ours.
But hey, if you want to keep comparing yourselves to Carolina and how you're only slightly better than us, so be it. Personally, I'd prefer a team and coach who set their goals a little higher than that.

ok, what would be the point of scheduling a road game that would be very difficult to win if we have a chance to run the table in conference. wouldnt that be pretty stupid if you have an oppurtunity to play for the NC and try to schedule a game vs texas or illinois or whoever.
